Spotify not working thru Bluetooth play

Just recently got a '17 Tacoma DBL cab Sport edition w/out the JBL audio.
Spotify is my primary music source but always pauses mid play while using the bluetooth feature, works well if using AUX cord or USB cord.
The same issue occurs in my wifes '16 4runner. For the first few months of owning the vehicle bluetooth play worked well then randomly the pausing issue proceeded.
Has anybody else ran into this issue and have a fix?

 

That was happening to me as well. I got annoyed trying to fix it (restart phone, delete and reinstall app etc.) nothing worked. Internet wasn't any help either. I switched to Apple Music and it has worked fine with Bluetooth so far.

 

A user on here that is also a tech at Toyota sent me a radio update to fix the issue of disconnecting from Bluetooth and dropping service. I will send you both the update so that you can install it. Takes about 10 min he said, haven't tried it myself.
