Has anyone put in a spotlight on the drivers side ? I want to put in a Unity spotlight, but I was wondering if there is enough room for the spotlight handle and all of the other stuff there like the steering wheel, turn signal stalk, etc. Anybody sorry they put one in ? Thnaks in advance.

    Doubt it highly.

Not sure what advantage a spot light offers that modern day, portable 12V LED lighting does not.

3 million candlepower portable spotlights you can store behind the seat and plug into the 12V power port can be had for $25 or $30.

We use the Questar Roof Mounted spotlight on most of our patrol vehicles. It's what I have on my patrol Tacoma. The "Questar" model has been built by a few different companies over the years (AFAIK) and their quality can vary widely.

In my experience, they are incredibly easy to control, very intuitive "joystick-like" control that can traverse as quickly as you can move your hand.........when it works.

Apparently no one here has installed one in their Tacoma. I have seen one installed in a Tundra. (as well as Blazers, Durangos, and Explorers) The interior handle of the spotlight did not interfere with anything inside of the truck. There are many reasons why fixed mount spots are more practical in many situations than hand held spots. The Unity lamps are application specific, and the mounting kits include templates for mounting. Having worked with law enforcement for 16+ years, I can attest to the practicality of this spot lamp style.

    Bone Stock.Why mess with perfection?Except...
Had one on every ambulance I ever drove. Worked well. Not difficult to operate with a little practice/experience. Have several cigarette lighter plug in models now I use for finding lost cattle. Works well. Easily transferred to other trucks. It's always raining, sleeting, or hotter than hell when I need the light. That's why I have several. Plus, I could probably take better care of them.
