    Yeah, there are actually some other interesting bits about the PNW that happened back in WWII with Japanese subs launching floatplanes for the only bombing of the mainland ever. There was also the funky balloon bombs (that actually came all the way from Japan) and other nonsense.

    Apparently the Japanese also shelled a Canadian lighthouse. If you believe the conspiracy nuts, it was actually the U.S. trying to trick Canada into the war.

    I've been up there before and seen subs too. I thought lately they had escorts on each side blocking their view from most onlookers???

    I'm not joking. Most of our ships are in retrofit. We bought used submarines from GB that are obsolete and require 10's of millions in retrofits.

    It's pathetic.
