sppedodmeter is off.

I recently purchased a 2001 Tacome for my work truck. It came with 265/75r17( aftermarket wheels0 tires and I downsized them to a 235/75r15( found some stock replacements from 99) Well today had to go get our car from the body shop and she had to have the speedometer at 85 to keep up with the car at 78 on the freeway. So I m guessing the speedometer needs recalibrated. Is the options for that like on my diesel I can have the tuner programmed with tire size to be close with speedometer? Also anyone have the center caps for the stock wheels laying around? Thanks

 

You have a digital readout odometer in your '01 don't you? It is fly-by-wire, no more speedo cable with changeable gears on the tranny output.

Bottom line is, there is no way to recalibrate your speedometer or odometer if its digital.

 

Yeah, with 32s, mine is pretty much identical to what the gps shows. With the stock tires (265/70-16s = ~31s) it was off by almost 5%.

 

Yeah theres is a digital odometer. Gonna go out with gps tomorrow to get a better idea on how far off it is.
