Sorry for the double quote. But does the outer lip of the Snugtop go over the outer edge of the bed rail? It should on all four sides. See the picture below (zoom in) of how the topper sits over the bed rail. So any water running down the topper doesn't even hit the bed rail. Should be positioned on all sides like that.

Also on the front (closest to cab) bed rail the middle section is about 1/4" lower than the corners (which are part of the side bed rails). If water is leaking in through that 1/4" gap you can fill it with some goop to make it flush. So your bulb seal sits across the front as it should, without any gaps under it.

No worries man, good info! Nice truck! There is an overhang on the corners, I think I’ll silicone the corners and see if that helps. A leaky topper is about as bad as it gets for someone with OCD

Here are those 1/4" gaps that I put goop in to make the front rail flush with the corner rails.

Really? I'm going to be using a topper so this is concerning... Cant you just put some sort of foam/rubber window seal on the bed rail in between the topper? I figure that should be sufficient.

That’s just my experience, I think part of the issue is my box isn’t even against the cab after the frame replacement. Mine leaks in the front corners and a few spots along the sides. I installed a quality brand new dual lip seal. I may pull it and silicone the corners where the corners meet.

I did that too! The rear window on my cap rub the paint on a couple spots.

I had mine Rhino-Lined in 2004 with the over the rails included. In 2005 I bought my Snugtop shell and they applied a thick foam strip all along the rails that have not leaked a bit all these years. So I guess it all depends whether your "applier" does the right job.
