    I ended up painting mine duplicolor wheel in Graphite and after seeing your sexy contrast I'm like damnit. Good taste you have.

    I think I'm sold on the Rust-oleum dark steel. Do you have photos of them mounted?

    I have a black '04 tacoma. Debating between the contrast or non-contrast look with the silver caps, thoughts?

    I have a friend in the paint business that would do that job any color for $100. I’ve tried doing all kind of shit myself and always end up bringing it to him in the end

    Damn that looks good. Now I can't decide between which, the dark steel or the flat iron color. Thoughts anyone?

    I just finished my summer wheels. 2 tone black and silver. Sandblasted first, then 3 coats urethane primer. 20201219_070134.jpg

    Have this picture for what it’s worth. This was after three heavy coats of clear and it really dulled the shine from the flake FE758229-254B-4612-9056-BED8C735E7E9.jpg

    It's so hard to tell from the different lighting conditions. I'm picking up the 4runner five spokes today from a local junk yard. Will probably try the dark steel color first. Are OP @ImpulsedComa photos pretty accurate of what it looks like under normal lighting conditions? And I thought clear coat supposed to make it shinier, what do you mean dull shine from flake?

    My favourite is VHT Cast Iron.
    It ends up dark grey, but has a matte finish. I've put on Matte clearcoat on the Tacoma rims because any oil/grease/roadjunk stains them otherwise.

    Previously had them on the Rally car and they held up very well to gravel;

    I thought the clear would liven up the color as well, but it made the flake less reactive to the light for some reason...maybe if I had wet sanded the clear it would helped. Either way, the person who bought them was happy.

    Reviving this thread as I'm midway prepping some 3rd Gen 4runner wheels for my 1st Gen Tacoma.

    Curious to see other photos from different lighting and to see how durability has been for everyone.
