I know how to crash that's for sure done enough of it. I have never done any sort of downhill so yes conservative speeds will be my friend until I feel comfortable. Ignorance here road gaps? Yeah sounds like me and @stronghammer at least will be the ones doing it and I think it is a new thing for both of us. So yeah barrel of laughs more than likely and a ton of fun!

Def make sure you got the go pro man! Should be some solid footage. Yea road gaps are all the rage now a days...most bike parks have some rendition of one atleast so the vets can have something to aspire to and then add to their street cred. Jumping and drops are also more common in DH than they used to be too, but wherever that you ride folks will point that stuff out. Beginner trails are simple and safe, but you might find that some resorts have only 1 or 2 green trails, but blues typically have rideable features while the blacks have features that you have to hit or do the walk of shame.

Someone else will have to bring the gopro. I am not into the whole picture video taking thing I'd rather enjoy my time with what I am doing than worry about that crap. Ummm yeah jumping hmmm probably not I'll be more than happy to do the walk of shame around that or just ride up and over. Maybe a little air but nothing crazy I don't have those skills.

Shit IDK none! unless one of the ski resorts does it. You should come to the windrock trip wheel some then ride DH with some of us.

I can def bring out the DH rig...we planning to do shuttle runs out there? The ski resorts wont be open until summer time for most bike parks, but Bailey bike park over in Asheville, NC is solid and has stuff of all ages there and they are one of the very few open year round for DH! That's about 3 hours from you to go there and about 11 or so for me.

@Trident904 Have we heard anything more about the group camping? If not should we go ahead and make our bookings and purchase the use pass for that weekend?

Harlan is one of my favorite places for crawling. You do need to know the right trails to run for it because there is a lot of logging road there that you can bounce around on all day depending on who is leading the group. I've spent three days wheeling there at once and still haven't seen it all. White Tail, Lower, Middle, Upper Rock Garden, Mason Jar, Railbed, Killin Time. They are all ball buster crawling trails.

I'd wheel it! Your truck is super capable with the dual lockers, auto trans, and a driver that's not afraid to wheel it too. Just needs 35's :anonymous:

Yea man, if that's the case maybe windrock has more trail riding than DH? DH is typically all downhill with very few up hills and you are just there to fly through crap and send stuff till you get to the bottom for pick up. Trail riding is simply mountain bike trails where you have to earn your descents!

I mean, I saw all of those I do believe. In the trucks most of us run around in, sure...they're time consuming and tough.

Again, back to my original comment....if you're in a devoted crawler or buggy (like you or Eddy), you'll make short work of each trail I saw that was considered the "Crawling" spots. AOP had that many crawling spots in a 500 sqft area lol
