Correct, but if we want to make reservations a month or more ahead is there any specific area or are they first come, first served? Not sure what HIEX is?

Some of the people are too soft to be camping so they'll stay at a hotel. LOL. There's no specific area I guess. I've never been there.

Shit, if there’s one of those “massage parlors” close to the hotel, I may be staying at the hotel too.

    If it’s raining = hotel

    If it’s not = camping

Green is the entrance / check in
Red is RV Spots - reservations recommended
Aqua is where we have camped in the past, no reservations needed
    Yellow is Danger Zone @beertimecontinuum

And the HIEX is 5 miles down the road, at the exit from the freeway, Wallyworld and cracker barrel over there

Thanks JimboAnz. Imagery makes it easy to sort out and we can discuss here or figure it out when we get there. Weather report is way to far out to be accurate as far as the rain though. Will say (and I live in Huntsville) that April is prime tornado month and that area is in tornado alley. Link. Turned black as the pits of hell that evening as we watched/listened outside after another tornado had already wiped out electric towers less than a mile or two below the Decatur nuclear plant. No electric for 4 days after that. Not a scaremongerer, but when serious warnings are put out I start looking for any kind of shelter.

No doubt a sad day for many. Link. Not to be taken lightly but hoping for a beautiful spring weekend for AOP.

I was only 3 at the time but I vividly remember the Wichita Falls, TX tornado of 1979. We lost our entire house. Completely gone down to the foundation. F4 twister was over a half mile wide they said.

Like hurricanes they are magnificent displays of nature. That is until you are in their path.

Yup. Lost several family members in the 1997 F5 that wiped out Jarrell, TX too. Couldn't pay me enough to live in a tornado frequent environment again. Absolutely no warning and the news cannot effectively predict the path. Once a storm gets larger than an F3, it chooses where it wants to go. Upper atmosphere no longer has the controls.
