    my aal keeps shifting around on and i'm tired of having to bang it back in place. what kind of spring clamps are you guys using, if you are, to hold the aal in place from shifting sideways?

    I have the same problem. I just smack them back about once a week.

    Try re-torqing the U-bolts too.

    Had tons on the old Taco's.... new Tundra is pretty stock
    I've seen some guys just use a metal hose clamp around the trouble leaf. Kind of a redneck fix, but probably does the trick for a couple bucks and 5minutes.

    The bigger issue is why your AAL keeps sliding......

    You either have sheared the axle alignment pin (not likely)

    Or you didn't tighten the center pin enough or re tighten after the truck was back on its wheels ..( I always loop the U bolts over axle last just so I can tighten the center pin, set on bump stops, loop Ubolts, torque,done)

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
    this is most likely your problem...;)

    All the aftermarket clamps don't work. Only way is to get some riveted on like the stock clamps and its not cheap. Check the center pins and u bolts

    Actually I fabbed some up using some flat stock 1.5" wide x 1/8" thick.

    cut 8 pieces like this about 3" long, drilled 2 holes high & low (just below the bottom of spring/just above top of spring) got some 3/8" all thread w/nuts & washers , cut all thread into about 3.5" lengths, ran it thru each hole, nut & washer on each end, tighten, done...

    Thats a fair question, dont know yet I just came up with this a couple days ago, but I wouldn't think it'd move much, will have to R&D it a little..

    i wonder if its a bad idea to tack weld to leafs. i was thinking to make some like the stock ones and tack them in place

    Honestly, if you've tightened the center pin correctly, don't have in excess of 5 leafs & don't unreasonably beat your truck , clamps are probably not a must have item, but theres a couple guys here in SoCal that are going to give me some feedback on them & they hit it pretty hard

    so we'll see...

    Seriously tho' guys if you keep spitting your leafs sideways, if the Ubolts are tight, no sheared centerpin, the only other thing it can be is a loose centerpin

    EDIT : It could be a broken leaf also
