I have to take off my 5100s tomorrow so I can take my truck to the dealership and get my steering problem fixed. I need to rent a spring compressor from autozone, advanced auto, or oreillys. I have experience using the spring compressors that you can rent from these places. My only concern is if they are strong enough to compress our trucks springs. Also, does a certain store seem to rent out a stronger/better compressor than another store? I hate I have to take them off for this, but I know if I don't they will blame the problem on the 5100s and refuse to fix it under warranty.

I dont think they could blame your bill's for a steering problem? I would just take it in the way it is.

I agree. Take it in with the bilsteins on, unless you can think of a really good reason to remove the shocks. Spring compressors.. be careful.

Thanks for the input guys. With the way the dealerships are around here, I figured they would.

Heres the link to my problem. You can start at post #29. Thats where the pics and video of the problem are.

Question about warranties. I have my trucks paperwork buried somewhere. I'm at 40,000 miles. My 36k warranty just ran out. Do all of our trucks come with the 60,000 drivetrain warranty? Or was that an option? I bought my truck used from a private seller, so the only warranty I know my truck had was the 36k.

alright, gonna take it when in the morning. I know they are gonna try to blame it on the lift, even if its irrelevant. What would be a logical response to give them if they do pull that card?
