Good to hear you were able to get it done, but I doubt I will be so lucky. After not hearing back from Toyota CS on Monday or Tuesday I went and called them again. After explaining the problem for a 3rd time and being on put on hold to track down my "special case manager" for my area I was told no one called me back because there was no special case manager for my area so one was ever assigned to my case. Long story short, I was told that even if one was that the decision whether to warranty this situation or not was up to the regional parts rep (who had already denied it). CS said the regional rep is trained to make these decisions on behalf of Toyota and they are the final word. Toyota CS will not make any effort to change the regional rep's call.

When I got home from work I had a message to call Toyota CS. I was not able to talk to the person I had spoke with before as she was working another case, but the person I did speak with was told to let me know that Toyota would not be assigning a special case manager as my situation did not warrant it. They told me if I wanted to pursue it further that I need to talk to my dealer again. They would not give me contact info for this local rep, nor would they pass a message onto them. And no one can explain to me why this is being denied, just that it is .

So in a nutshell...Toyota's attitude was piss off, our regional rep made the call and we are sticking with it. If you want to whine go bug your local dealership, but we aren't doing a damn thing to help .

I'm going to hit up the dealership tomorrow to have them call this regional rep. I hate to make myself a pain in the ass to the local guys since they have been nothing but cool...but for what I paid for this truck Toyota is going to make this right.

Any idea who's spring you are going to get? Eventually I want to go to the wheelers HD full replacement pack but I can't justify throwing out the factory springs until they are truly ready to go. In the meantime I'm going to spring for the wheelers HD 3 leaf AAL to compensate for my camper shell plus gear.

Good reading as just added my ARE shell, and when I pick up my carpool rider, and go over the speed bumps in her mobil home park at 5 mph, it feels like the springs are hitting bottom.

Way too soft, and I have the TRD OR double cab with tow package. Heading out to a off road event the end of the month, looking forward to how it handles in Ocotillo Wells.

Mine has three and will also give it a go at my local dealership, but it sounds like I may wish to get aftermarket ones if the factory items are so weak.

    Suggestions?

I am off road about 10 - 20%, have a solid shell, pull a 20 ft boat on occasion and have the back of the truck full of gear.

So what's the alternative to Dakars if you don't need or want 2.75" of lift (or want to deal with the potential problems associated with that much lift)? I want 1.5 in the most over factory height with the weight of a camper shell. I plan to do eibach/5100 set at zero in front and plan on maintaining rake for hauling gear.

You can remove an overload ( Dakars have 2 ) or one of the leafs to reduce the lift , you could also look into air bags

How much is too much sag. I put 500lbs in the back of my 12 OR and it only sagged 2".

I have done this and there is still 2" of travel before hitting. The only weight that I plan on having back there is when I get my tonneau cover. The exception to this is when I travel on vacation or small around the house tasks. Might still get some aftermarket springs in the future when these give out.

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
Sorry I had trouble getting my pictures AND time to post these...

I would have done IMG tags but the images would be huge as you would imagine.

Well just got back from Van Trow Toyota in Monroe, La and they once again said there was nothing they can do about my P.O.S. off-road leafs. They put 4 guys in the cab and drove it around and said they never felt it hit the bump stops. Now they were either lying or didn't drive it where there are bumps or dips in the road. I'm about to lose my shit over these damn leafs. I could haul twice as much with my dbcb SR5 when I had it.

Go to another dealer, throw in the words "safety", "baby in the rear", and "rough ride with a load in the bed" and you should be good.

Well I'm not spending 3-4 hundred dollars on something that toyota should fix, I mean shit, I already spent $32,000 on the truck, I should be able to use it as a truck.

What are your guys opinion on the best way to fix the crappy 3 leaf OR springs? I am looking at either getting the firestone air rides, or an upgrade from Wheelers.

I don't want to lift it that much if any, just want to not sag like hell when I haul a boat and or have stuff in the back.
