Being that you are located in Vancouver I wonder if your brother's truck was originally a U.S. spec truck?

SR5 is just a trim package...that can be prerunner or 4x4. from what the other guy posted, u may want to have him find out where that truck came from, b/c if it's a US truck, it should be covered

thats a prerunner, but the debate is if it's US or canadian spec. ^^ posted that they dont make prerunners in canada, so it must be from US...if thats the case then the tsb should apply

I've contacted my dealer and they wouldn't do the upgrade until they had a recall advisory on it. I like my truck but it would be nice to have a bit smoother ride. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

This is not a recall. Its not something that absolutely needs to be done. If you refer to it as a recall, I doubt that they would do anything about it.

    None yet! It's new!
I've got a U.S. model '09 TRD Sport, 4X4, purchased here in the N.W. last summer. The stock setup is 3 + the short bar/spring on the bottom, making 4.

That's the way it was delivered. So..... some 2009s came that way. Just fyi.

When the rear spring TSB is done, does the truck ride better or worse UNloaded?

The dealer says that the ride is rougher although a lot of people here say the ride is better loaded/unloaded.

We just bought a 2010 Prerunner Doublecab and it has three leafs total, two arched and one flat. We have not hauled anything yet so we have not noticed the problem.

I've yet to receive a response to my email to Toyota. Today I called two of the three dealerships in my area with the following responses:
    1. "You'd have to bring it in so we can look at it."....and then they offered me an appointment.

    2. "I've never heard of it and we haven't had any of the 2005 to 2008 trucks in here for the upgrade, but if you give me the TSB number, I will be glad to see what I can find out." They then took my phone number and said they would get back to me after they researched the issue.

Am going to call the other dealership and see what they have to say.....

Hey Everyone, after looking at the TSB threads on here and the posts regaurding 09 ans 10's getting TSB done, I looked at the latest TSB found on here from 08. The part numbers on my springs match the part numbers on the springs to be replaced on the TSB. Also, my springs have 2 arched leaves and 1 flat bar. Am I on the right track? I have called Toyota 800# and Dealer called today and acted like I was stupid, until I asked him why the part numbers matched. Any help on this would be a big help.

Call or write to Toyota Customer Service to get a case number and they will contact your dealer. I think with a case number, dealers don't hesitate to get approval from Toyota.

Got mine done last night and I can't say I feel the difference in the ride may be because the TRD ride was firm to begin with. It's only 7/8 of and inch higher, problably the thickness of the extra bar.

I have my 2010 DC Sport on order now. If I'm planning on installing a Toytec Ultimate Lift, should I go through the trouble of getting the TSB done (assuming it comes with the 3 leaf pack), or will the AAL with the lift kit take care of the shortcomings of the stock leaf pack?
