Can anyone help with the difference between my 2 extra TRD Sport springs? One has no color patterns on them, and one has blue and yellow dots on them. Can anyone tell me which goes on the drivers side? They came off my 2010 TRD Sport

So after calling every Toyota dealership I can think of. Nobody can help me with which coil spring goes on what side. I was mistaken on the colors. One Has a big blue blob and a white blob, And the other has a green and grey blob. Any help on which one goes on what side.

Finally found one tech that said there is no difference. It was just a color code the manufacturer used to separate them. That just doesn't sound right, why would you need to separate them?

That's what I would think but a tech just went through the whole install sheet, and it makes no comment on different coils for a different side. I measured them and they are both the same

And when you put them on a flat surface, they're both the same height?

I don't know the answer off the top of my head, but in my vast TW reading history I know I've seen it answered several times. Have you searched at all?

I know it doesn't help you, but they are absolutely side specific. Mine are Yellow/ Yellow on the drivers side and Yellow/ White on the passenger side. Wish I could help.

    Found this.

I'm betting the unmarked side is for your drivers, based on everything I found in a search which is more than the post above, but the spring markings are not all the same color combos or colors as what you have, the dominant factor is that the mismatched colors are for passenger side and the non-marked/matching colors are drivers.

I just found another post, I guess I must of spelled something wrong. In a post Chris 4x4 stated the green and grey was the drivers side, and the blue and white was the passenger side. I never stated one had a blank side. One was green and grey, and one was blue and white. But I think I got it, thanks for your help. Toyota tech's are a bunch of dummies

Which is it? Really difficult to help you find an answer if you're not even giving accurate information to begin with. You have 4 different versions of the color on your springs, I don't even know how that's possible.

    1. are you sure they came off the same truck.

    2. Most people when they do the lift do one side at a time to not have this problem with mixed up springs.

Throw them together, if you have REALLY bad taco lean you have them on the wrong sides.

Gee a few posts after my first post in this same thread I realized I messed up on the colors and then corrected it Mr. PeeRunner. " So after calling every Toyota dealership I can think of, nobody can help me with which coil spring goes on what side. I was mistaken on the colors. One has a big blue blob and a white blob, And the other has a green and grey blob. But you must not be able to read that, because if you did you wouldn't be busting my balls Einstein. You know people make mistakes, maybe you don't. We are not here to bash each other, nothing to add go away. And as far as why I didn't keep track of the springs. Originally I just put 5100's on my 2010 and used the stock coils. Then I switched to Eibachs and took the stock coils off. So they have been sitting in my garage collecting dust.

The spring rate is determined by the thickness of the spring, coil mean diameter, and the number of coils. If all those are the same then they are the same spring rate period, the colors don't matter at all.
