I wanted to know what the pro/cons of the sprint booster throttle body cable (thingy) vs ecu reflash with the OV.

    Big price difference.

Is one better than the other?

I made the decision to try and solve the acceleration lag after almost being destroyed by a big rig while WOT merging onto the freeway last night.

There are a TON of threads asking these very same questions.

That being said, and to help out somewhat, The sprint booster is a band aid, whereas the OV tune is an actual fix.

There’s really no comparison to be made, OVTune blows any bandaid fix clear out of the water

The OV Tune is for off-road use only. Use of OV Tune on pavement violates your agreement, and therefore makes you liable for any damage caused to your vehicle by the mod. That alone caused me to steer clear.

“None of our products can be used at any time on any emissions control vehicle that is used for anything other than off-road performance or competition use. ALL Ecu tunes, Calibrations, flashes, files, datalogs, or anything in regard to the tune, tuning process, changes, are for OFF-ROAD USE.“

Did you mean literally any modification to your vehicle?

If you damage your truck solely because of using OVTune, you would be the first person to achieve that

Can anyone confirm if it won't pass emissions inspection with OV Tune?

OVTune posted his own emissions testings (almost a year ago, they’re buried in the alpha thread somewhere) and the results showed his tune performed better than the stock tune

Agreed... the “use” statement is to protect the company from liability claims. That’s enough reason to avoid installation IF you plan to use said product outside the stated terms agreement (i.e., on road use).

    Which most do..

Not sure what you are saying. I’m just quoting the policy. It means exactly what it says.

    OV Tune. Worth every penny.
If I could tag all the happy owners of trucks with OV it would be a long message.

You obviously have not researched OVTune enough and just read a legal disclaimer that even the manufacturer of your rock sliders likely has.

The tune can be flashed back to stock whenever you want and is completely undetectable when installed.

The only way a dealership would know is if the owner of a tuned vehicle blabbed his mouth.

You’ll probably have to do a lot of digging to find a rock slider that can’t be on a paved road.

Whether the tune is detectable or can be returned to stock has nothing to do with the disclaimer. And I’m not sharing an opinion, I’m quoting their policy which means exactly what it says it means. One that Mat even quoted and called attention to in his own thread.

It’s just information. Use it or disregard it at your own will.

FWIW, I researched the product at great length and that’s how I came across the policy.
