Been using one for a year now, better pedal feel and response. Few of my Tacoma friends rave about it. Makes driving it fun, coupled with my trd cai and pro exhaust it is perfect. No need for a tune at this point. I highly recommend it. I don't have to push on the pedal as far to get a response. You not going to get any more power, your going to get it quicker which makes the truck feel quicker and a lot more responsive.

I'm gonna get one. Altering the throttle-by-wire response curve to be more linear is definitely not snake oil.

one of the features of ovtune is the tip-in/pedal sensitivity.... pretty much the same thing. I've seen many posts of ppl pretty happy with both, give it a shot.

    this and that...
i stacked ovtune with sprint booster. right now im running 92 premium sfob (which is the tune for enhanced throttle response) and my sprint booster is set at sport9. at this iteration this is a perfect setup to me. lightning quick throttle and the more dynamic behavior of ovt. its true that you could use ovt to alter your throttle thus alleviating the need for sprint booster. but heres the thing. every single time you want to alter, you need to go into your laptop then flash. with sprint booster you can change your throttle on the fly, in real time. going through the different modes while driving you can feel the true difference between each mode.

well like I've read before there's no OV tune for the 2.7l as far as the sprint booster sounds cool but don't want to put any extra wear and tear on the engine that's what I was asking about...

    Hell yeah! That sounds awesome.
Wasn’t sure if that was possible.

I have a sprint booster without OV, and believe that it does make a difference. I have a V6 and only use 87 Ethanol free.
It helps the RPMs get to the power band quicker.

I have been running it since February of 2018 at roughly 1300 miles. I now have 27,527 and it still runs great. Could not say if the 2.7 would suffer any additional wear, but really that would depend on how you drive as well.

Edit: I love the tiny footprint; it can almost go anywhere.

Had the Sprint Booster on my 16 & 19 2.7's. Became a new truck for me. Throttle response became as I think it should have from the factory. Of course I know they do that to squeeze an extra MPG or two into their pamphlet. Got it in my 2020 3.5 now. In the 2.7's, I had it set for Sport #6. The thing I liked about the Sprint Booster was that once you find the setting you like, you can remove the controller and wire going to the module. If for some reason Aliens stole it out of my truck, I would order another the next day. Hope that helps you.

    this and that...
@AMC_Unlimited: thats awesome! i like your setup. and tbf regardless of what anyone says here, sb by itself did make the truck feel a lot different. i feel where youre coming from. its not "oh just push the skinny pedal further down" lol. i mean seriously, people think we wouldnt have the know-how to do such a thing LOL. without sprint booster, no matter how fast you mash the throttle itll still be gated by how much the ecu allows the tb to open. its truly not 1:1. sb bypasses this entirely if you so desire.

@Mrtacoman88: lol. its not entirely like that. dont get me wrong. sb is a fine tool by itself. ovt is also a fine tool by itself. when you add em together...bliss. the best thing about it is, you can adjust the throttle on the fly. say if you go wheeling. you think you want a razor sharp throttle when trying to slowly modulate over rough terrain? what about those situations where people let their significant others drive the truck? what about theft prevention? in each of these circumstances you can allow sb to do its thing...on the fly. no need to access your laptop, wait for ovt to load, playtest every single parameter to make sure its correctly tuned for your circumstance, plug the dongle into the truck, flash, then reverse all of this when you want to go back. all of this is alleviated with sb.
