Hello all. I was wondering if anyone else has had or has annoying squeaking noise coming from under the rear of the truck. Only able to hear it when the windows are down while driving. It's like the sound of metal rubbing on metal. I actually heard it first on another Tacoma driving next to me. I was mine wouldn't eventually sound like that. Unfortunately after a few thousand miles, it does. I've taken it to the dealer and asked them to drive it with the windows down. Of course they couldn't hear anything. They said they went ahead and had a technician tighten what they could and greased under the vehicle. Up picking it up, I no longer heard the noise and I was hopeful the issue was fixed. Unfortunately after another 1k miles, the same squeaking noise is back. Any ideas, thoughts or suggestions? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Had a really annoying high-pitched chirp coming from the back. It was the spare tire mount. Dropped the tire, lubed the chain crank mechanism, and now its perfectly quiet. Worth a shot maybe.

That's exactly what it sounds like. I'll definitely give that a shot. Thanks for the quick response!!

    Thanks for the warm welcome.

I certainly hope it isn't the springs or bushings. Lubing the spare tire chain and crank sounds less time consuming and a whole lot cheaper.

If it's the rear leaf springs, you can hear it by just pushing down on the rear bumper and bounce the rear of the truck up and down.

Thought mine was the leafs, but I couldn't reproduce sound by jumping in bed. Took some silicone spray, lowered the spare and lubed the chain hoist real good. Noise gone so far.
