Spyder Black OEM Style Headlights

I was looking into getting these Spyder Black OEM Style Headlights. Do any TW members have these? How is the quality? Any pics or info would be greatly appreciated.

I've been looking into getting the Halo lights from the same company. Amazon reviews have me thinking otherwise though. Came here to hopefully get some info.

 

I've noticed most of the issues are water issues. I am thinking if I seal them before they ever go on the truck it is a moot point.

I just purchased the halo version today via Amazon.

 

After further research I'm going to go with the Tacoma OEM TRD Pro front headlights, part # 81110-04221

Those aren't cheap wow 200 a side.

 

Yeah that was the biggest complaint that I saw as well. Do you know if it they are easy install?

 

there's been posts on here about melting drl in those aftermarket ones.

 

Don't know they arrived last night. I am going to wire them up this week then install them Saturday. Also ordered some h1 bulbs TRS because I like my hid setup now but they are h4's. I didn't read the fine print on bulb sizes. My bad.

 

Just as the posts about melting factory housings. Good thing my truck doesn't have dtrl...

Didn't take any photos of the install but pretty simple and clean if you have solder skills. I'm happy with how they came out well post photos Saturday as I work nights and not with my truck around.

 

I got antsy after soldering them up and went ahead and installed them, only took an hour and that's with putting disconnects for the led and Angel eyes in place to the corner markers making them 100% plug and play.

 

Spyder is definitely one of the lower tiers of aftermarket housings

 

Gee thanks for the vote of confidence. What all have you guys seen with them.

 

I can butter your buns all day with false info, but there are better options out there. Admittedly I don't think the other options come with black bezel options.

With that said, there's nothing wrong with them, but the build quality isn't as good as other options let alone OEM level.

 

I had spyder projectors and ended up throwing them in the trash.

I ended up with some OEM replacement from eBay that were tinted black inside.

 

at the rate im going though if I can get 2 years out of these i would be happy. My OEM ones make it 6 and the actual lenses started to crack on the front face pretty bad.
