Spyder Halo Headlights with HID 8000

    Hey guys just installed some new Spyder Halo Headlights with HID 8000's. The halos are LED's, so not as impressive as the CCFL's but still look really nice lit up at night. Talked to a guy who has the CCFL's and he talked me out of buying them with the CCFL's in them after he showed me his Tacoma with a blown transformer leading to a burnt out Halo. (Any lit Halo looks better than an unlit one.) Take it for what it's worth. Pretty impressed with the lights tho, install was a snap! Be careful with the HID's, should have went with the 6000's to gain a little more distance out of them. Bought the Fog lights to match just haven't gotten them in yet. Hopefully these will help light up the night a little better. Just a review, all in all I'm happy with them.

    Nice. I have the Spyder CCFL's in mine. They are awesome, although sometimes a halo will go out for a few minutes.

    I'm overall happy with them, my only complaint is the distance of the light output isn't that impressive....

    Install a set of 8000k Fog lights. I bought "smoked" fog lights with HID 8000k in them to match the head lights. They weren't very smoked and didn't fit correctly, but I did manage to just remove the HID and put them into my old fog lights and boy are they BRIGHT! Shines farther than the headlights just about. After some minor adjustments with the headlight settings they did balance out well tho.

    You do know 8000K hid is the color in Kelvin, not the brightness. The higher the number the more Blue they put off. If you want them to be brighter go with 4300K or 6000K. And as always I hope you adjusted the aim on them, from the factory the aim is pretty bad.

    Most definitely! The headlights do need a decent amount of adjustment which is expected. I know the kelvin scale I just believe that the fog lights being that they reflect differently then the headlights they assume a brighter light. And they without a doubt overpower the headlights when running.

    Thats also due to the fog light housing not being able to correctly aim an hid arc, since they were made to control a halogen filament.... its blindingly bright also due to having no glare shield.... ive been on both ends of tuis setup and its not good for oncoming traffic and thats componded yet again by the blue tint..... blue is very irritating to the eye.... both the driver and oncoming.

    Ur not liking the headligh5z output is
    common with spyders. Its just the limit of the projector.

    Keep in mind it's only gunna be worse in fog, snow, dust, and rain. Blue just doesnt work well in many conditions.

    Happy ur happy with the looks..... its sounds like u know u neeed a cooler bulb, thats good.
    Id suggest sealing those headlights seams with ge silicone ii. They are prone to leaking

    I have the same exact headlights in my tacoma. Where did you get your HID kit and what bulb size? I know there H1 bulbs... just wondering how easy it was to install?

    How doeso the factory plug plug into the ballast and the plug for the high beams
