I've always hated the ones that were in our 96 as well that sat in front of the radio and air vents. Always screwed up the temperature of the drinks and spilled on the radio and make the buttons sticky. That was at least a drop down design when pulled from the dash. Our 01 Tundra they decided to do a pop up design and the thing always breaks in some way. The boyfreinds dodge is just as bad too and doesn't hold anything. Who designs these things?!

    Thanks for the ideas everyone!

Hey madjik, how much cooler is the center console for the 01-04 that the old one? If that better too i'll probly do this swap someday soon. My center console lid is busted to shit and for as much as the lid costs i might as well swap the whole assembly and have decent cupholders too.

Edit: and the only thing worse than the square cupholders is the backseat cupholders on xtra cabs. Those things are such a joke. But at least they dont cause problems because they dont get used.

I am keeping my truck stock in terms of mechanics under the hood, drivetrain etc... It is a daily driver to me, grocery getter, 4wheeler etc...

that said, the cup holder/center console upgrade was the single best thing I've done to this truck so far.

It took me two years scouring TW's 1st gen marketplace, craigslist, etc until I found my center console/cup holder is very good shape for around $50

Nope, its to narrow for a pack, unless your like me and flatten packs out a bit in your front pocket.

It fits a cased Iphone perfectly though.

Ill probly do that then. Just get the whole assembly when i find one. I mean christ, a new lid on ebay is 70$! If i can find everything for under 100$ ill have a deal!

P.s.- and deep down i know you want to lift it:drevil::wink:. You'd love the levelled look of a nice 2" lift

Hell... if I were to bring back to stock height, it would seem lifted.

    My suspension is spent.
