Got some quick measurements today. Nothing fancy, but did take pictures. We’ll see if it’s close to what you have for a 2nd gen. If not we can go from there

I got me a longbed bestop & the rack looks like it may fit. Let me know if you'd like to have a test fit & I'll volunteer to be up one of these weekends :spending:

With the medium height rack, is there any soft top company that would make a lower height? Just trying to cover up some camping gear.

Goal is a surf rack over the cab, and a rtt on a medium height rack so the longboard can rest ontop of the rtt when mounted to the cab rack.

Not that I'm aware of. I actually looked into getting some basic aluminum ones made, as I simply had to tweak a few designs, but the cost of labor for the fabric portion is what axed that for me. way too expensive to outsource lol

Find a marine cover shop. They make custom canvas boat covers all the time. Might be pricey though

Are you looking for a bulk purchase of like 5 canvas or just one off jobs as them come around? I seriously have someone I can reach out too. What’s too expensive for a canvas top?

so I stopped working at my part time gig aka no more CAD computer.

I'm currently waiting till cyber Monday to buy the components to build my own. Then I have to save up for a license of SolidWorks.

As soon as I build a CAD computer I’ll use sketchup for now.

That being said still working on some truck stuff, I showed @KeystoneGoodie when he was over the other day.

sorry I’ve been MIA, new role programming robots, vacation and wedding stuff is taking up all my time lol

    Small Update:

Over Christmas, I was able to find some time to build my new CAD workhorse, and start loading some software.

The first order of business is linking up with some vendors in my area, including @Skell to get some one off bike mount prototypes made :)

Next I'll be contacting my VAR to see if I can get a license of SW!

License of Solidworks out of the question for now. Too much monies when you're saving for a house and wedding. I'm attempting to get it via an entrepreneurship license agreement.

For now I'll use sketchup or look for other programs to design in.

    haha I know :(

Hopefully when we buy a house I won't have to deal with vendors making stuff. I can just source my materials and build.

I'll check that out too. specifically, i'm looking for something that can create a dxf, for a laser or waterjet.

When I was in HS I remember using Adobe Illustrator for our laser. I just simply matched my line colors to a cut or raster parameter on the laser's software.

More specifically, I used inventor to make my model then converted everything to a 2d view to be used and colored in illustrator. For our laser RED was cut and black was a raster/burn. Once I had everything colored, I could convert it again to DXF to use on the laser's software.

So currently out for quotes are my bed rail bike mounts.

I know there has been some interest in the past about these, and I myself being an avid mountain biker will use the snot outta them.

I know @Unchained 5150 will be happy when I have some completed!
