    Hey guys!

This is my first post and I'm pretty new to tacoma world and the world of owning a tacoma... I just had a shop install new tires Tim's and 3" leveling kit made by truxx. When I first left the shop(yesterday) all was fine, and already the drivers side has a squeak from the suspension. I have been reading about this topic, but no one has posted pics of the exact trouble parts to spray with lube/grease etc. also does the squeak come from parts being stressed due to the lift?

Thanks, any advice would be great!

Nothing to grease. Since the ride height is higher by 3", the rubber bushings in the control arms are no longer in their natural position and are "twisted". The mechanic should loosen all the upper- and lower control arm bolts where they attach to the frame, bounce the truck up and down a few times, and re-tighten the bolts while the truck is on the ground (not on a lift).

The upper ball joint is stressed due to the lift, but it shouldn't squeak (it breaks apart silently)... Typically lifts above 2.5" require aftermarket upper control arms both to correct caster and to prevent the stock balljoint from binding. Least expensive UCAs are from Light Racing (about $400), e.g. http://4x4.fatbobsgarage.com/light-racing-adjustable-upper-control-arms-toyota-tacoma-05-p7532.aspx

Hmmm... Shows what I know. So there is hope for eliminating this squeak? From what I have been reading guys just live with greasing these things. I was under the impression that the leveling kit wouldn't stress anything or alter the factory ride. I'm clearly no mechanic, even if I'm good with tools. Lol I'd hate to have made a huge mistake with the kit and would hate it to screw up my nice new truck. Ill look into the aftermarket UCA's and ask the guys at the whole about the twisted bushings.

    Thanks!

Just an update on my 3" truxx lift. I dropped the truck back off at the shop that did the lift, and they explained that the sway bar ends were the culprits, in that the bushings develop a seated groove and with the new position of the lift, they were now twisted. They need to loosen them off and reseat the bushings in their happy spot. I haven't picked up the truck yet, but they say its cured and problem solved. Again, greasing them constantly not the answer to squeaking issues. Thanks for your advice KenLyns:)
