I had a very similar sound on my 1st gen. The bottom eyehole of the strut tht mounts to the lca was rubbing on the lca strut mounts, so the shock was twisted in the mount causing metal on metal screech noise like that.

It was on my first lift (skyjacker). I then got 5100s and ebaichs which is how I went about it. I never had a fix for it but to spray it with lube.

I have a very similar problem here with my ICON LT and TC UCA. I'm sure it's not the UCA bushings and done some tests to clear the ball joint possibilty. Doesn't seem to be related to the swaybar bushing either.

I can feel the vibes when i put my hands on the coil.

Let us know about ICON comments. It sounds just like a very tight/dry seal on the coilover shaft.

I told the guy at icon to that it sounds like something needs to be lubed like the bushing on the lower shock mount but he said there made so they don't need any.

There at ICON right now should have them back this week or next week. Guess they only rebuild shocks on Tuesdays.

Yeah I've read through most of the threads about squeaky shocks but all come to an end with no conclusion about how to fix it. I've tried to spray the crap out of the shock with dry lube but anywhere I sprayed it the squeak was still the same. I've read one guy had to go as far as replacing the lower bushing, where the lca mounts, on his ICON shocks to make the squeak go away

I had the squeak before the LR uca's. I bought them to see if it was just my stock uca making the squeak.
As of right now I have my stock shocks back on with no squeak so it was the ICON shocks.

I had a set of SwayaWay on my 1 gen and shortly after installing them I started to get that same squeal. Back when those were made the shock shaft was on top. It ending up being the seal at the shaft. I was able to take some axle grease and put it around the shaft were it went into the shock body. Never had the squeak again.

The guy at icon had me do that before I sent them in but it didn't do anything really. That video I posted is with some lube on the shaft

Update: received my shocks back yesterday and installed them. The squeak is gone! I talked to the guy that rebuilt my shocks and he said the went and replaced the seals so I guess that was the issue.

Maybe. I'm not to sure. The guy told me that sometimes just tightening the shocks down more takes the squeak away. He said every case is different. Have you tried putting some grease on the shaft? They told me to do that but it did nothing. They told me it might quiet them down.

Is this a common issue with the icons ? How many others running the icons
have had this issue? I am thinking of possibly getting the icons. But don't wont to deal with this issue. Thank you in advance .

Yeah I am leaning toward the 5100 myself. Just thought it would be cool to have the option of being able to fine tune height adjustments. Thanks for your personal experience. :D
