Need a little help. I'm working on getting back in a taco and have managed to work a deal on a manual 4x4. I'm a little hesitant of the 6-speed due to the number of complaints. Have the squeaking clutch/TOB issues been resolved? I don't want to spend good money on something that will drive me crazy.

Thanks for the help. I know this topic has been covered at great length but figured this would be the best course for a quick response. Thanks guys.

Note: if this is "normal" the manual may not be for me.

    Yes sir
I can't answer your question, however I can say that you need a better thread title than "help please." No offence but when you're making the thread it says don't just use "help" as a title for a reason, you need to be more specific so that guys say "oh, I know about that stuff" and then click it and read more.

So, I would use something like "question about 6 speed manual" or "questions about manual tacomas" etc. Not trying to be a dick or anything. Good luck :D

Hey, the "help please" title kinda scares people off.
Had an 07 TRD/Sport with the 6 sp manual.
80k miles in 6 years, rough duty, no maintenance, no issues, except pedal squeak.
Bought another, exactly the same, 14 model, because I missed it.
I live at 3800' above sea level, drive to sea level every day, twisty, steep in places, some city. Clutch/trans get a workout.
    Good luck.

No, as explained, sold the 07.
The 14 is flawless, to date.
To tell the truth, I would buy back the 07 in a heartbeat, squak and all.
Just because it was simpler interior, limited slip, better back seat system.
Guy I sold it to won't sell it back.

What are you basing this on, your experience with your automatic?

My clutch squeaks on really hot summer days. The squeak just started last summer, but I didn't try to address it yet. I'll shoot some lube on it or try to turn the little plastic piece. Not too worried.
