Anyone ever drill a hole through the leafspring and rubber bushing then thread a grease zerk to try and quiet the squeaking? I would think drill it until the bit touches the bolt then run a tap and install the fitting and pump grease in there. Is this a bad idea or genius? My leafs are so annoying.

I'd spray this first while having someone jump up & down in the bed of the truck.

They might have fun & you might localize the squeak, but it's a reasonable idea :)

Stock wheels and suspension. Random "utilitarian" mods featured on this great forum.
I have the same year as you and only squeak in mine came from one of the retaining tabs. It was the driver's side leaf pack. Once I found it, bent the bracket back more and haven't had it since. I'd spend the time to try and locate where it may be coming from.

Putting grase in there will make rocks are dirt stick which can make more of a mess and cause issues. If anything, I'd use silicone spray or another non tacky and dry lubricant.

don’t drill your leaf springs, grease will attract more dirt and debris making the issue worse in the long run.

Jack the truck up, place stands on the frame. Wash the springs with high pressure if you can. Let dry, then spray with a silicone lube

That's what I was gonna say, lol. Silicone is also good for rejuvenating windshield wipers, too. Have a great day, Greg :)

One or more of your rubber isolator pads between the leaf springs have worn out. Replace them with these. You can either pick them up at your local dealer or order from a Toyota parts store online to resolve the issue.IMG_4330.jpg

that’s not necessarily the case. I have a ‘23 with spring squeaks and it doesn’t even have 20k miles on it.

    I do, thank you sir
Like I’ve told many people, it was truly my pleasure. I’ve been to places and seen stuff. I never would’ve been able to do otherwise.
