Hello guys, I'm new here. Hopefully I will make some friends .

Where can we start.......I own a 2019 Manual transmission TRD off road, I bought the truck BRAND NEW and after about 5000 miles and less than one year I noticed that my clutch was making a squeaky noise (like an old door opening and closing), took it to the dealership and they told me it needed to be "lubricated", they fixed the noise for like 2 weeks and I ended up going back to them for the same issue ,only to find out it's actually a manufacturer issue.
The dealership claimed that Toyota made an specific part as a replacement to solve the issue. The dealership ordered the parts and replaced the clutch pedal and a bunch of other parts under the original warranty.

One year later, the issue came back.......SAME annoying noise and a little vibration on the clutch pedal, took it to the dealership and they refused to do anything because they already replaced everything once before.......the service advisor basically told me that I had to live with it because the clutch pedal was fully functional......they "lubricated" and sent me back home with a fix that only lasted 2 weeks......My mistake later on was that I waited until the noise was annoying again to take it back to the dealership again and the factory warranty was expired.....
I got an extended warranty though (best decision I have ever made), so after fighting with them for a while they agreed to do a replacement for a SECOND time (first time using the extended warranty). This time they replaced an internal part, but not the whole thing like before (they left the old pedal), it resolved the issue for another year and a month ago the noise CAME BACK AGAIN!!!!!

This is really a headache......now the dealership wants to charge me $150 for the "diagnosis" to check if a part needs replacement, because the extended warranty can only be used with a part number. I have the option to take it to another dealership, but I feel it will be the same BS because they don't want to deal with Toyota extended warranty.......

It's there any aftermarket parts that can resolve the issue? I think I prefer to pay out of pocket and fix the issue permanently with my mechanic. I'm seriously doubting on Toyota's reliability now.....a Factory issue that can't be fixed? Seriously?

Mines been quiet for a month or so after pushing the pedal towards the seat (to make a gap) and spraying a shit ton of white lithium grease right into the spot where the nub on the master cyl rod rubs. Like enough where it started to run down, and I wiped away the excess. Probably a more thorough way to do it would be crack the bleeder so you can get the rod pushed in, and then put some thick grease on the nub and in the pocket on the pedal side. There's also the metal fj pedal swap.

The Tacoma parts never solve the problem, because even brand new 2020-2023 Tacomas that have the latest parts still all have the problem. Disc brake grease is the solution that solves the noise problem. You put it on the rod the spring clip rotates on, and also pack it into the void on the backside of the pedal where the master cylinder nub rests in.

Or, you get tired of the side to side wobble and swap out the whole mess for the metal FJ pedal which is what I eventually did. Look up my threads if interested in that, 15K miles later and I couldn’t be happier with the clutch pedal.

Yep, high temp disc brake grease is the solution.

I had this problem and replace the clutch assembly under the TSB for it. It started making noise after the first year of owner ship and a few thousand miles on the odo. at about 9k miles in January 2022, I had the clutch TSB done. Currently at 15k miles with no issues.

I had this issue too. First dealer visit they just fluid filmed the pedal joints. Second time they said it was an issue with no fix aside from lubricating it.

A silcone based grease with PTFE in it is the key. I used energy suspension "formula 5" polyurethane grease. About 130'000kms and a few years with not a peep since

I had all the parts replaced under my Toyota extended warranty. So far good with no noises.

Lithium grease is what u are seeking …just lube it when it starts making noise around the rubber boot and the metal shaft .i do this to mine every 3-6 months whenever the noise comes back . The noise u are hearing is the rubber boot rubbing with the medal shaft when it goes dry .

It looks amazing, I never understood why the Clutch Pedal is made of plastic.......Is that a FJ Cruiser Clutch Pedal? So it fits in a 3rd Gen Tacoma? Wow I didn't know that, can you give me the part number or a Link of the pedal? Did you replaced anything else other than the Clutch pedal?

My 22's pedal was squeaking after about a year. All I did was apply lithium grease to the moving parts and it's been quiet since.

Yes, it's an FJ Cruiser pedal. They have (had) a metal pedal that fit the exact same shape of the stock Tacoma pedal. No idea why they decided to come up with a plastic pedal for the 05 Tacoma, then a metal pedal for the FJ, and then continue both for each vehicle all the way through the 3rd gen, yet they did.

Here is my write-up on it. Don't be too intimidated, I broke it out into literally every possible separate step I could. That makes for a long and seemingly daunting install, but it wasn't too bad.

The parts I used are listed. It's the pedal, master cylinder, and some other piece parts to make it work. So far so good.
