This will fix it, if it's the same squeak everyone else has, which it most likely is. BTW, replacing the whole assembly doesn't work.
There is no need to take it to the dealer, it took me all of 6 seconds to fix the annoying-as-hell squeak. I realize a new truck shouldn't make any niose, and it is the dealers responibility, but there's no need to be without the truck if not necessary. Here's what to do:

    Haven't had a problem since.

My issue is not coming inside the truck but it seems under the truck. I am sure it is the bushings in the slave cylinder. This might be something I just have to live with. I rotated the shaft yesterday and it did not do much.

    Thanks though,

    Brent

Well, I finally got the squeak. It just showed about a week ago and got very bad very fast.

I skimmed this thread before I went out to lubricate the pivot points. I saw the thing about that push rod, so I went out and took a look. I first tried pushing in the clutch by hand while laying down there. It was squeaking, but was hard to identify exactly where it was coming from. I tried turning that push rod by hand, and immediately the squeak was gone.

However, the push rod will freely move by hand about 1/4 turn. I can put it in the extreme of either position by hand easily, but it doesn't really tighten, it just stops. I have a feeling the squeak will come back. I didn't want to use a wrench to tighten it one way or another, because I didn't know which direction it should be tightened in, or if it matters, or if it can be adjusted too far.

^ Mine is the same, it will move freely about 1/4 turn by hand. All I've been doing is turning it by hand as far as it'll go (clockwise). This only takes a second to do, and it eliminates the squeak for a week or two.

I wish there was a more permanent fix.

Holy crap this just worked for me! Took 5 min to go down to the truck and give it a shot too!

Sorry to revive an old thread...but this is exactly what my clutch pedal does. I cannot begin to describe how annoying it is because I can feel all this movement through the pedal. It bothers me even more because it seems to just come and go as it pleases. Any solutions for the excessive movement?

Apparently there are a few things that could be the squeaking problem. One is the shaft....This wasn't my problem. I tried the 1/4 turn trick and lubing the shaft. Neither worked. But the squeaking seemed to be coming from under the truck. So I got to looking and the only linkage is the one going into the transmission. There is a rubber boot you can easily pull off with your hand. So I did and then sprayed some wd-40 in the hole in the transmission. And Bingo! It worked....no more squeaking.

    Hope this helps...

That's was my problem/fix as well. Expect to see it again though!

I had the same problem with the chirping fan blower motor (like so many other people). Had the blower motor changed under warranty. The new blower motor is a newly designed as Toyota acknowledges a poor design of the older model. As for my squeaky, creaky clutch pedal, after changing bushing and master cylinder, two months later, the problem is back as bad as ever. Changing fork and assembly next week. Funny how service manager behaves as though I'm the first customer he's ever known to have this problem.

I had my entire clutch pedal assembly replaced under warranty, but only after a huge battle with Toyota. Now, 2 years out of warranty, the new assembly is squeaking up a storm. As you say, it happens only in summer, but what an irritating noise. I even made a recording of it and sent it to Toyota. t is astounding that they refuse to recognize this as a design flaw and haven't, as far as I know, done anything to correct it.

The squeak is definitely inside. The attached mp3 file is a recording of it.

Go to autozone and get some white lithium grease spray. Contort yourself and look up where the clutch pedal arm attaches and you'll see this silver metal bolt. The top end of that bolt goes into this shitty PLASTIC cup thingy (I don't know what any of these parts are called). See picture:

Spray a bunch of the grease up into the plastic cup thingy. My creak used to be horrendous. Have not heard a peep out of it since doing this several months ago. Best $5 I've ever spent.

Many thanks for the recent post showing where to apply "Spray Lithium" grease. I have a 2010 Tacoma Prerunner and I have been fighting this problem for two years. The best solution I had found prior to this spray grease was to use a 12 MM open end and twist the rod slightly when it was squeaking. Thad would work for a variable period of time. Sometimes one day other times up to 3 months.

I did purchase spray lithium from Autozone and applied it as shown. The squeak was immediately gone. That was two days ago. I am hoping this is the "fix". So, I am really happy about this solution.

The only downside is whatever solvent is used to make the lithium sprayable, it is potent and lasting. Three days later my interior still has a strong odor from the procedure. I even opend both doors and set a 48" shop fan blowing through the vehicle for a couple of hours.

In retrospect, I'll gladly take the smell to be rid of the squeak.

    Thanks

    2010 Prerunner.

Pedal started "creaking" at about 25,000. Currently at 32,000.

Took it to dealer under warranty and they replaced the throw out bearing, which is the "squeeky" sound, evidently.

Creak came back as I drove off the lot.

Complained and took it back and they "adjusted the clutch".

Hasn't creaked in the two weeks since.
