Warm weather has brought quietness. Knock on wood, but haven't had an issue in a while.

Mine started at 2k miles and I reported it at every service. It wasn't until 15k that they decided to replace the clutch assembly. They said they couldn't reproduce it the first time but they didn't try too hard. I heard it leaving the dealership parking lot!

Now it is a matter of waiting on the part. It has been over a week..

Before I heard about this issue, mine was squeaking and driving me nuts. I sprayed my pivot with DuPont Teflon wax spray that I got at Lowes. Soon after I sprayed it, it started squeaking again. I sprayed it again and it has been silent for a year and a half. You might try that. I can't remember if I only sprayed the pivot or I sprayed some other points as well. The original squeak was coming from the pivot. I do know that.

I have a 2016 TRD Sport 6M and have had my clutch replaced by Toyota twice as it starts squeaking and gets worse very quickly...it goes from a soft squeak when letting the clutch out slowly, to being an annoying, loud squeak that feels very gritty under my foot...and it occurs every time I have to use the clutch. My truck just hit 17,000 miles and the clutch started squeaking again today....at 17,063 miles. I will be having Toyota replace it once again...it costs them money, and I will use my warranty to its fullest extent and hope they will recall the entire clutch assembly because it is junk. Awful quality. I wonder how many times they will replace and repair it before they acknowledge they are using a junk clutch supplier. Don't pay for lube or grease or anything on your own guys, go to the dealer and make them pay. My truck also has had to have both front seat cushions replaced due to springs coming through the fabric, and I have had to have the seat covers replaced because the stitching has fallen apart. So Toyota quality? not any more....its BS. I drove Ford until I wanted a smaller truck and better quality and I refuse to buy GM....so Toyota got my money. I can't wait for the new Ford Ranger.......

Well, 3rd time in and they finally said they could reproduce it. Not sure how they miss it when I show them the issue when I bring it in...

New clutch assembly and master cyl. Wow! This made the truck feel new again. Far less effort in the pedal and engagement is smoother.

I'm curious if the clutch assembly is the same for the 5spd/6spd? Seems like mostly the 6 squeaks. The clutch in my subi would click when it was hot, sounded like a solenoid clicking rapidly 5-10 times when I let it out. Never figured out why, traded it in for the taco :headbang:

So what's the actual problem here? CMC making noise or the actual pedal/spring assemby squeaking?

To the dude who said he's had his clutch replaced twice, I wonder if you have bad pedal habits that are contributing.

Only thing to go wrong in the scenario you describe is the lubrication of the TOB which generally lasts many years and tens of thousands of miles.

Do you ride the clutch pedal? I.e., not take your foot all the way off of it?

All the noise is from the clutch pedal. The disc, tob and pressure plate have been working perfectly. Slow engagement of the clutch is when it is most noisy.

Haven't been on here in a while. Just wanted to update: about a year into the clutch repair and the squeak is non existent. Things have been going well in cold and hot weather.

I need to have the dealer check mine out when I bring it in for the first service (I only have 2500 miles on it), started doing the haunted house groaning sound from the clutch pedal when it got hot out, what's interesting is that it gets quiet when the A/C is set to blow some cold air through the floor vents, so it is definitely temperature related, as it also doesn't do it when it is cooler out.

Mines is at its worst in cold weather when you have the heater blasting at it a while.

Had that same issue on my '06 and my '14. Toyota replaced the clutch mechanism in both (one was actually a TSB I believe...was so long ago). But ultimately, they always went back to squeaking/groaning. It was actually one of the factors when I decided on an AT for my '18. A minor factor...but still played a part. I still miss the MT though...

Yup another reason I don't own a MT Tacoma anymore. Gets old having to spray grease every couple of months.

I found using disc brake grease takes care of it without needing to reapply like that.

smeared the grease one time, never any squeak, groan, or friction again. not once. but i also removed the spring so that's another level of fix i suppose.
