Luckily I have the ability and tools to do this myself. Are you going to have the sleeves cross drilled? The poly bushings don't make contact in the center so there is a slight gap for the grease to transfer from the bolt, to the sleeve, and then to the bushing.

Nice. Mine are showing some slight rust on the springs where the paint was chipped during shipping. My springs will be cleaned and smothered in fluid film sometime this spring. It's a battle combating the salt here and trying to maintain a rust free truck.

Well ladies and gentlemen, the squeaks were completely gone after cleaning and installing the Dobinsons 2 days ago, but now they're back. The squeaks are definitely less dramatic and less often, but they're back. The top two springs make contact about 6" back from the front isolators, so that area is the next place I'll be looking at.

.... and then, mysteriously, one day, the squeaks went away. Lol this is ridiculous.

Thanks for this - I have the updated medium Dakars and the squeaks were driving me nuts. Pulled the isolator pads out and they were bone dry with just dirt packed in there. Cleaned them out and applied some marine grease and the squeaks are gone. I had been spraying dirtbike chain lube in there, but that would only last a couple of days. Been a week now with no return of the squeaks.

I forgot to do it and now I’ve got Dakars on! But that stuff is super handy and they have it at Home Depot for like $5.

Gotcha, I might just give it a try.

Did you ever end up getting these installed?

After replacing the bolts with the Dobinsons a week ago..... no squeaks at all, kinda squeaks, no squeaks, slight squeak, and now right back to full on annoying squeaks again. :annoyed::frusty:

What bushings is everybody using?? My friend found me some rubber OEM-like bushings. They're twice as expensive as the poly stuff, but I'm anticipating no squeaks from them.

My old Allpros squeaked a lot from just rust/shit in the leafs themselves. Cleaning them out and Fluid Film lasted a couple weeks. I just bought some of that Energy Suspension 'sticky' grease for future leaf squeaks. Most people that use it say it lasts 6+ months.

Gotcha, I just got some used Dakars and while in the process of cleaning them up I thought I'd address the potential for squeaking. I'm thinking of just spraying everything with Rustoleum chassis paint and greasing the hell out of everything with a substance high in graphite. The ones I got use the yellow spring bumpers beneath the 3rd and 4th leafs so I'm thinking of wrapping the 2nd leaf with a couple of zip ties for good measure.

I'm also replacing the center pin and greasing the bushings. Hopefully I've covered all my bases by the time i'm done.

I'm late to the party so sorry if you've already mentioned this but have you tried spraying everything liberally with fluid film?

That's my future plan. I also plan on adding the add-a-leaf. The add-a-leaf doesn't come with the isolator pads, so I'll be using my plasma cutter to bore holes instead of spending forever on a drill press and burning up bits. Once everything is apart, I'll be cleaning, applying some sort of lube on the pads, possibly adding some spring liners, and then apply fluid film super heavy.

    Hello All,

I just picked up a new set of OME Dakars, EL095R, and they look to have a round button between the 3 top leaf springs.

Are those anti squeak insulators? Do I still need liners?

    Sorry Am new to this,

edit, Never mind, I found the information on the OME website.
