    Lots of sail boat fuel
You want silicone spray. Not white lithium or Teflon. Start there

the metal hinge at the very bottom?
i would not think my hinges to be off since it still closes like a champ as nearly brand new as one can get without actually being new lol
i will go and see about tightening it up see how it works then

Don't use wd40, it "cleans" the grease out. One you use that you'll have to clean the WD out and reapply some real grease.

yes, the two bolts per hinge on the door side. Check just to be sure. My hinge was not snug. Did it impact the door closing? NO. It did cause that damn OCD annoying squeaking noise though.

did you have to remove the panel to get to the inside of this door stop limiter arm? door check arm?

i wonder if that WD40 all these years messed it up inside, dried all the grease out

I applied it to everything i could see with the door fully opened. When you open and close it works the grease into the door. Glob that shit on there.

There's a screw inside that plastic cover, its very easily stripped out of the threads over time. The squeak you might be hearing could be the screw being 'pulled' in and out of the sheetmetal.
happened to my friends '99 !

it gets well below freezing here
i already went through that decades ago (quarter century more like it) delivering winter pizza in a '79 Corolla that the heater and defrost did not work
had to scrape the frosty inside windows with my drivers license :(

That reminds me my POS Zastawa (Yugo). After skiing everybody was undressing for trip home, I was putting all cloths on. In that POS car windows did not go all way up - no heating would warm that cabin when the cold wind was blowing through all windows.

Door Check Assembly 6862004010. You do have to remove door trim but not too difficult.

Just so you know, it may not be the check assy making the noise. There is a reinforcing plate welded in there where these bolt up. Basically a double thickness of metal, with one spot welded over the other. It may be the R/F plate and the door sheet metal rubbing against each other due to the stress. Your lube may not be getting in between the two panels.

i am under the assumption that the metals are expanding/contracting with the outside temperature change?
in the winter this never happens!

if I choose to put new door speakers in I should have better access to the innards?

i was able to tighten maybe a micrometer, did not want to test my own strength and break a bolt or slip and put a dangerous mark in my inside doorjam paint
its a wait and see if the noise goes away after this

i did not try this one bolt, just the hinges
what needs to be removed to access that, the black plastic piece?

if i have to go route with the grease how messy is that going to get, cleaning the jams up after treatment

did all the wd40 used in 2 decades do harm, i always thought that is best stuff to use oh how i was ill informed
