That was more for the person who was implying this was a "3rd gen Toyota quality going down the toilet" comment.

I'll go back to my point. For the amount of your messages I've seen in this thread, you could have spent less time remedying squeaky leaf springs throughout the life of your truck, applying White Lithium grease. "Problem" solved.

White lithium grease is not the best solution.

Why? I'm on 12 years with my truck. It takes me maybe 1 minute a year total to remedy this "problem". I'm also on the same $6 can.

Toyota engineers recommend clean and do not lube. See the tech tip. Use search function.

So my 12 years experience doesn't have any bearing on this conversation?

Only for you. It's anecdotal otherwise.

The trouble with oil based lubricant is if you use the truck on dirt roads it's attract lots of dirt and grime

Tacomaworld has changed in the 7 years I've been on here. Granted I barely read it like I did. However, it used to be a place where people would offer solutions. The threads I'm reading seem to be people just complaining. Not wanting to help and more inclined to point fingers. The only reason I'm in this thread was to offer solutions. Majority of comments are just people complaining. It's really too bad.

I think people would be more inclined to take advice/tips if their truck wasn't new. I regularly look on these forums for solutions to issues I may be having with my 12 year old truck, but if I was having issues with my new 4Runner I'd expect toyota to remedy them. That's just my take

If you want a solution read my write up below specifically the part regarding energy suspension grease. But since you already have it figured out you shouldn't need to waste your time?

Is there a link to the write up? I don't see it. I would definitely read it.

My truck was silent for 30K miles. Rain snow, dirt, mud, and obviously lots of pavement. Then I loaded it with 1100 lbs of concrete blocks and drove a few miles of dirt. A few days later it was squeaking like crazy. I sprayed silicon spray between the leaves (assuming that would not attract dirt like grease or oil). Within a few blocks it was silent. Then I did another 1/2 ton concrete run in the dirt, and the squeaking is back. Doesn't really bother me too much, but as others say a $35K truck should be quieter. And my 200K mile T100 was silent.

I saw a write up, I didn't see yours. After reading, it still doesn't appear there's a one time, end all solution. My solution works pretty dang good. If you have a problem with dirt building up (which I haven't in 12 years), wash it off. It's been mentioned before in this thread, this issue isn't limited to Tacomas. You'll find it's actually pretty common. I guess the moral of the story here. Sit around, complain that Toyota didn't issue a fix immediately. Or take the solution most have found simple, easy to do at home, lasts a long time.

You're putting some pretty strong faith in the same engineers that gave you squeaky leaf springs, howling diff, busted trip, vibrating driveshafts, shitty shifting, failed cps sensors, etc.

    Strong logic you got there.

Lol I've been turning wrenches long enough to know a blowhard when I see one. I would take a big grain of salt with any Smitty write-ups.
