I installed my 3 inch lift kit this past weekend which includes new leaf spring packs for the rear and a pair of greaseable pins. The pins are on the chassis/fixed/front end of the springs and have been greased through the zerk fitting. I've isolated the squeak sound to the rear axle and was wondering what thoughts/ideas/suggestions you have to remedy the noise. Everything was torqued to spec and u-bolts to 75 lb-ft.

I would do 90 foot pounds for the ubolts. I know that toyota specs are a little less. But some manufacturers go that high for their packs.

When i do leaf installs I take red grease and lube the leafs individually bc most companies dont put much on. But now that you already have it installed.

Jack the truck up from the frame to take the wheels off the ground.

Take a crowbar and seperate the leafs one at a time while spraying the pack down with fluid film or something similiar.

You can also Gob the end pads with grease as well. Then drive it around to allow the leafs to flex and seep in with fluid film.

I do this 1-2 times a year for leaf maintenance after they squeek.

You can also grease the shackle bushing ends where they make contace with metal too. Just smear it on.

Thanks for the advice! This is more or less what I’ve been reading as well. I took the wheels off today to start the process and noticed there was some movement in my spare. Seems like I didn’t tighten it all the way after I took it off for the suspension install, so I went ahead and tightened it up, and viola my squeak is gone. :)

Wait! So that noise was from your spare tire being loose?

Crazy! I had a very similar noise and was hopeful it was the cause. Sadly it isn’t the case for me. I did use my spare tire tool for the first time though. Lol. glad you figured that out though!
