Not enough room for a grinder with a flap disk. Only using the dremel to cut through the welds I put behind the stock tabs. Also using a spot weld drill bit to drill out the factory spot welds, and then a 60grit rollock on a die grinder to clean it up.

No, didn't put anything behind them when I welded them.

    OEM all the way man.
Mine is still tight, no play, leak free...after a winter of wheeling and finding potholes with 34's.

"OEM" reman, allegedly. OEM = new rack from Toyota

    .
I'm recommending brand new from the original equipment manufacturer. In this case, Toyoda.

Rack Doctor remans OEM racks. Also tried the new aftermarket route and that was even worse.

I'm now replacing it with a new OEM unit.

Now I can actually start working on Cam tab gussets and coil bucket gussets.

    Next project:

Need to decide what I'm going to do with the tailpipe. Might run it over the leafs and out the side, or straight back and down right before the bumper. Wish I had a way to bend tubing.

I don't know if I'm redneck enough to make that happen.

And by the time I amass the backyard forge, stump, wheel, etc, I think it would make more sense to pay someone to bend exactly what I want. :notsure:

whatever you do, go past the axle.

piping it out the side is tricky but do able at a good exhaust place.

Sorry, i don't have good photos like normal of this.

You just need to see your guy before 10am when he's still sober, his repair of your exhaust didn't even hold. Too bad you moved I know the best exhaust guy in Washington and he works cheap too (also needs to be caught before 10am) haha.

That looks complicated. Probably just go straight back being I don't have anything under in the bed in the way.

Certainly not going to dump before the axle.

I think I would enjoy blacksmithing, but not backyard tube bending.

So what you guys are saying is I need to drink more before I do more exhaust work?

Yea, Norris is my exhaust guy. Bent Igors sliders too. He is a great guy. Went to school with his boys. He knows his shit. I had a lift and he knew id be wheeling and the rest was all him. I didn't tell him anything not even what muffler to use. Just fix it, make it sound good and look good.
