That seems like a solid idea. Need to see if I can find washers that work on McMaster.

Don't have a lathe, but I'm sure I'll find a way to shorten the bushing and sleeve the width of a washer.

You can use oil impregnated bronze washers/bushings too, they work very well for applications like this.

Wonder why TC says to skip the outside washers with the coil bucket gussets? Seems like it would have made me life easier if I kept them and just moved the gussets out a smidge to fit the washers.

Going to figure out the size of that through bolt and then order some of those washers and give it a try.

When I had my tc coilbucket gussets installed, the washer was left out.

Exactly. That's what the instructions say, and that's what I did, but it's causing serious squeaking. Can't keep grease between the outer edge of the bushing and the gusset.

When I put mine together I used a black moly grease and I greased all suffaces of the bushing and so far I haven't had any squeaking. I only hit my zerks once since the install.

What kind of grease are you using? If you can get a hold of black moly grease I say give that a try. Good luck buddy. Hope everything is well.

    I'm doing good Ray!

I exclusively use SuperLube for the poly bushings, which is suppose to be the best for those. Petroleum based grease can be harmful for poly, so I've stayed away from those.

So that's what I've herd. Whatever floats your boat. I look at the bushings like a wear and tear item. At least that's what I tell myself. The grease was free so that's the main reason I use it. I've heard of the horror stories of the UCA squeaking. I'm glad I don't have the issue. That's all. Well good luck figuring it out. Peace.

really any lithium based grease is good for poly.

I use lithium based moly grease and have never had squeaking issues either.

So, ordered these after confirming the bolt was 14mm, should have read more, but they I don't think they'll work as the OD is not nearly enough. Now I have $20 of useless fancy washers.

Put some grease in the zerks which helped slightly, then swapped the nuts for nylocks. Keeping them slightly looser seems to help. Half-ass/temporary solution at best.

Put it together and noticed the lower bearing on the shock is creaking. A little Boeshield stopped the noise, but guessing it's on it's way out.

Oh, and blew a P1135 code pulling it into the garage. Reset it and it came right back.

So tired of working on this damn thing. :annoyed:

    What's the P1135 code mean?

Looks to be upstream O2 sensor.

Never replaced either, and have 272k on the clock. I have had the infamous P0420 pop up, or at least pending, very infrequently the last couple years too. Probably should replace both up and downstream sensors.

I think I have the same code. Haven't looked into it yet though. I need to fix some exhaust leaks before I start worrying about sensors.

    Stuff. Also things.
My UCA bushings seem to need to be greased about every 1000 miles or so, otherwise they sound like monkeys fucking. Or at least what I imagine monkeys fucking might sound like.

I've been using super lube like you have, and I have been torquing the through bolts down to OEM spec like the AP instructions called out. Seems to work great right up until they abruptly start squeaking. I might try some red and tacky next time and see if that lasts a bit longer.

My issue is solely because of the coil bucket gussets. Never had a problem before that.

You could make your own out of some Oil impregnated Bronze sheet or I can cut on the WaterJet if I have dims.

.125 Might be a little thick for a wear washer.

    https://www.mcmaster.com/#8933k11/=18o9vjo

Or this that is closer OD than what you bought. But carbon steel, Might be just enough to stay greased and take the noise out.

Must be the super lube. I've never had squeaks with moly grease.
