I still very much like the size, just not to impressed with the options in 255/85.

But also, truck needs some love with my BFH this weekend. Also, I think I finally need to get around to reloating the windwhield washer resevoir. That's the one place my 255/85s rubbed, and I noticed some rubbing there pulling out of the Discount Tire parking lot.

Accomplished a number of things today. First on the list was to do the PVC windshield washer resevoir mod. That was one of the few places I regularly rubbed, so I wanted to get it out of the way. Started by following Monte's writeup and used a T fitting, but only after I had is assembed I realized the pump was just too low and exposed with the All Pro skids:

    IMAG0833_zpsv3qyryfk_54fe10c0e34fa524ebea043f590f82556abf6d36.jpg

So, picked up a plug for the bottom, and drilled a hole in the side:

    IMAG0838_zpspnwucapp_6d4499cf063c57299ac0ef313b254893b45eb4c1.jpg

Next it was time for the BFH and some more hammering. I'm rubbing the frame at full lock even with the spacers, but don't think I'll have much of any other rubbing:

    Restored the headlights:

And truck still cleans up ok with a fresh coat of wax:

Nice truck im probably gonna have to make a pvc washing resorvior for my cracked one. How do the 295's do on the stock 16's. Are you running wheel spacers?

    Thanks man!

Well see how the 295s do on the stock 16x7 wheels. Wheeling tomorrow, so that'll be a good test :D

Anyways, running 1.25" spidetrax spacers on the front only right now. Rear ones seem to be on a permanent loan, but I should have a pair on the back again soon. Rubbing the frame at full lock, but not to worried about that. Only place I really rubbed with the 255/85s was the windshield washer resevoir, and that's now fixed. So between all that and the extra hammering today, I don't think I'll rub too much, but we'll see tomorrow.

That's good to hear. That price is a lot better than OEM, although racks aren't the most fun to replace, so I'd rather do it once. The lifetime warranty is enticing though.

Really not too bad of a job. Only takes a few hours if you know what you're doing. Jace is the one that reccomended them.

I never rubbed the firewall with my 255/85s, which are quite a bit taller than 285s. Alignment maybe? :notsure:

Yea only thing he should potentially rub on is the frame. 295s are just wider then 285s

Yeah I've done it once before and it's not bad just a PITA dealing with those tough to reach bolts.

The only part I had a problem with was the removing and reinstalling the steering shaft.

What was the turnaround time on getting the rack doctor rack and how fast did you need to send back the core? Need to do mine soon.
