Ass backwards lol digressive tuning is a weird one. And a pain.

But Brett I believe is talking about the smaller disks in the shim stack. These have to more with high speed stuff. Lightening them up on the rebound and compression will help with high speed stuff.

Adding flutter stacks is always nice too for a more versitle setup.

It's all based on shaft speed. Somewhat read that like you missed me saying shaft speed the first time. I also remember you telling me how nice they road on the way to the mall with no mention of offroad performance. :p

Need to find out what are in my coilovers from the factory. If they don't have a flutter stack, I believe they would help a lot. Also would like to put a flutter stack in the back.

Like I said though, I don't know a ton about shock tuning, so I need to keep reading up and learn from those who know more than myself.

I got that you said shaft speed but you also stated it was not directly correlated to speed. So I was just clarifying that digressive shocks were not about speed itself per say.

Beyond that though my knowledge is limited so I will be watching as you post more.

Yea sadly idk what my ads are at either. But I feel the sa,e. The small high speed stuff like washboard stuff could be better. Otherwise. Floats.

I will probably take you up on that at some point. Especially don't want to mess with compressing those coils without a proper spring compressor.

That was most likely because the jump that made the video was a lot smaller and not the one the above picture comes from.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aq_3hxZ_PXk

I'll try to figure out how to embed the video with the bigger jump after work.

So I am curious have you guys checked your frames to see if they indented in the rear from those landings? I'd be most concerned with the 2nd gen Tacos. We all know how fragile they are. :D

I've got rear frame reinforcement plates welded on. My rear shock crossmember also seemed to stiffen it up even more. Haven't looked closely but I'm pretty confident it didn't go anywhere even with all my weight.

But I have seen 2nd gens bend right at the bumpstop pad.

A quick inspection shows no signs on bends.

Hell no. That was rough enough as is.

Got everything on order to do rear axle seals and bearings with OEM parts. @lotsoftoys or @thefatkid, can one of you get me a pic and maybe the length of the SST for pressing the axle bearing? Want to try to make a tool.

I have an old axle housing I cut up. The whole shop loves it because you don't have to cut the ABS rotor off. I has no pics at night

I've heard that's a good way to do it. Wonder if I can find an old axle housing cheap. I imagine that axle flange bolt pattern was the same across all the trucks/4runners?

Already ordered new ABS rotors, so I'm prepared to cut those off and replace them. Seems a bit ridiculous to be replacing those when my truck doesn't even have ABS.

Any reason I should be concerned that both axle seals started leaking at the same time? Driver's side I noticed was pretty bad my last day in Moab with oil slung around the tire, passenger side is just a slight leak in comparison. Truck does have 262k on it, so I'm not that surprised.

Where's @Digiratus to tell me 'I told you so' regarding axle seal issues after yanking on the axle shafts to swap the 3rd member.

Check your breather. Although I would think it would have pushed out the side with the least resistance and not both but you never know. Both of mine were leaking. I replaced one and just cleaned up the other side before RT haven't rechecked yet though but my E-Brake works a little better than before. it's probably just the side with the new seal is clean.

How is it getting parts in Steamboat? I have yet to get the right part the first time from Carquest or NAPA here in the valley. Super frustrating.

Here's the Toyota tool. No cutting required either. Do need a thin set of snap ring pliers. Did a set on a 4runner first day back from moab;)

Breather was relocated to the gas filler location years ago and it completely open. No check valve at all to get stuck.

The Napa here in town is pretty good, but I don't get much from them. I like to use OEM parts when I can and the closest dealer to me is Glenwood like 2+ hours away. Usually just end up ordering parts online.

 I'll see what I can come up with.
