My rack doctor started leaking a year in. Been two years now, leak is getting worse, thinking of going CVJ this time around. Also think the leaking rack is part of my power steering pump whine issues.

Brett, if I recall correctly, didn't you purchase/install a sub woofer that conveniently fits under the driver or passenger seat? Have any info/input on the sub you purchased??

Leaking, play in the rack guide, etc. etc.

Sounds like you've got some good info here on the remanufactureres. If I were to do it again, I'd go CVJ. Been happy with my CVs and they're local here in Colorado.

Kenwood KSC-SW11. Got it as an open box special from Amazon. It's under the drivers seat and takes up zero room. Already have an Alpine 4 channel amp under the passenger seat.

I'm no audio expert, but I'm pretty happy with it for what it is and how much it cost. Can't afford to loose any space in the cab.

That's exactly what I'm going for. I got rid of the 10in behind the drivers seat because it was taking up too much space. How did you connect everything (i.e. additional amp). I am not an audio/elec wiz what so ever.

May do the same, my 10" is taking up a decent amount of space for now

All this talk about a new rack. After my above question to Brett I called CVJ and asked for a rack for a 2000 Toyota 4Runner. She said " yep we have them on the shelf". I asked is there a warranty in them? Her answer was "Yes a one year warranty unless you are putting it on a modified vehicle. Is yours modified?" I replied yes, and she reiterated no warranty.

I ordered a new OEm one from camelback and it's now sitting in the garage awaiting install Wednesday.

I'm pretty certain that the new OEM one only has a one year warranty. However I wasn't asked of my truck is lifted. I'm not worried about that detail. I couldn't have it on my conscience to lie to that lady at CVJ.

    What do they consider modified?

Not sure but I'm not splitting that hair. The new OEM rack came with ITRE's and I bought OEM OTRE's for each side. $630 shipped

It's all wired separate with the exception of the power sensor wire which is tied into the other amp. New RCA cable, and power. It doesn't draw a lot of amps, so I just have it hooked up to the blue seas.

Rack Doctor says the same. FWIW, I think wheeling and bigger tires is exceptionally hard on steering racks.

That doesn't seem too bad. Especially considering that the OEM ITREs are greatly superior quality to anything you can get aftermarket, and especially so to what is included on these reman racks.

    :spy:

Got my best tire mounted up for a spare and test fit. Now that I've wrapped my head around the relationship between wheel width, backspacing, and offset I can see how things are going to play out. Think I'll be able to get away without running wheel spacers at all, but we'll see. I rather be closer to the frame, than the firewall.

New tires are coming in Wednesday, so just for @TBuzz I'll give the old truck a wash and wax, and try to take a fancy picture.

Also have a 1" body lift coming it. Hoping that will solve the last bit of rubbing issues. Also be good to replace my body mounts given they're 15 years old and have 264K on them.

I'm not sure you'll get your truck looking as nice as those wheels. Maybe faster to just go wheeling and dirty them up to match. J/K, I'm sure it'll look sweet. I've been on the fence about those wheels for a while now. But I was faced with repairs instead.
