Same issue here. Plan on taking it back in next week and will report back.

Already took it to dealer where I purchased and told them to check it after oil change. They just said it was dirt causing it. Now its worse - gonna take it to the dealer closer to home.

Not OP, but this is not normal. have had several trucks and SUVS - some with 250k on the ODO. I'll try to take a video, but this is loud enough people ask about it when i get into or out of the truck even.

Yea sounds exactly like what is wrong with mine, and everyone on here give crap for it, but it is a problem, and if it is the same sound once you post a video, there is no fix, toyota is buying back my truck for it

Ok. Here's what I got on video. You can clearly hear the loud squeaking.

    1. Pushing my foot on back bumper and bouncing a little. Not my full weight.

    2. Getting into truck in quiet garage with windows down.

    3. Backing out and doing a couple of brake checks.

    4. Driving slow up neighborhood street

    5. Rolled windows up and came back down street to house and parked back in garage.

I can clearly hear the squeaky squeaky with windows up while driving over bumps or braking at slow speeds. Not sure if that part comes through video well.

I only watched 6 seconds that is exactly what mine sounds like. It is the leaf springs/ bushings. Toyota has replaced my leaf springs twice on both sides, and still continues to squeak. I got to the point where i took it to lemon law. Toyota is buying back my truck because of this issue. They cant/ wont fix it. I think it is a recall they dont want to announce because it is metal on metal rubbing, that creates sparks and gets really hot. When the problem worsens they get stuck and push down with force when they free up causeing the truck to go heavy to one side.

Had this same issue. Oil all the rear end pivot points, leaf spring bushings, and leafs with wd-40. Everything was extremely dry. Now if I jump in the bed it is completely silent.

Are they buying back your 2nd gen Pre-runner listed in your profile or did you also have a 3rd gen that had this issue?

A second gen pre runner, but it is a 2015 so it has the same leaf setup as a 2016

Same problem here, but not as bad. I only hear it when i get in and out of it. I started noticing it around 2,500 miles on the odometer. I now have 3,900 miles on it. I've owned my Taco since the end of January, so today I took it in for my first oil change and let them know about the squeak. The service department told me that it was because of the low mileage and it hasn't had enough time to wear in. They greased the leaf springs for me and the squeak is gone as of right now. Hopefully that's all it really needs is break in time and not the same problem as a few of you other guys. I will keep my ear out for it to see if it returns.

Forgive me if this was covered as I didn't read through.

The first time I went wheeling was on stock suspension, no squeaks. Went through some sandy/muddy holes and after that it was squeak city.

Fast forward two weeks to when I was installing my lift. I had my leafs apart to put in the AAL, and in between each leaf was a bunch of sand and dirt. I cleaned it all out and after that the squeaking stopped.

I've been wheeling since then and my leafs squeak again from the same thing, but I just don't care anymore. I noticed though that whenever it rains or I wash my truck, the squeaking stops until it all dries out again.

So, one should power wash the leaf springs real good after wheelin' in the muck, right?

Of course, but that doesn't fix the issue I had. It'd be damn near impossible to blast out all the sand in there with a power washer alone. Granted, it's not too hard to take apart the leaves each time, but that's not something I feel like doing.
