Yep, I need to tell him to check his bushings, too. My Dakar squeak was from the bushings, not the leaves. Maybe he drove down to Florida and traded it in for a T4R...

@Cape Codder do you just use a flat head screwdriver to pry it enough to slide the zip ties in? Any info will help!

Yes. That's how I did mine anyways. Flat head screwdriver and pry leaf open so you can pass zap strap thru. Then pry the next leaf down enough to slide tail of zap strap back thru. Do up the zap strap and cut tail off. I also bought some EPDM liner (pond liner) and cut small strips and wedged them in between the leafs without isolators.

FYI...if you lift the truck up and let the rear axle sag there will be plenty of room to get the zip ties in there.

i did this mod 2 months after installing the Dakars 2 1/2 years ago and they've been quiet since. 2 of the zipties broke off along the
line but i just reinstalled new ones.

Truck was on lift with tires off the ground, Pic below, shows old dull screwdriver between leaves.
Went in no prob, and Ties will adjust without screwdriver before cinching
I only installed 'em in the rear of leaves, as that's where the squeak was originating. No reason you can't do both front & back.

Cable Ties are still in place, spankin' them squeaks.

Mine have squeaked since day one and after many attempts nothing has worked. I've learned how to turn the radio up, but i may try the zip ties this week!
