Ive searched around here a fair bit and it seems to me a bad hub manifests in a number of different ways, so sorry if this has been addressed elsewhere.

My truck has 180k miles and I’ve never replaced front wheel bearings. I did replace all new tie rod ends And lower control arms last year, and cv shafts / upper ball joints a number of times.

I’m experiencing quite a bit of squealing around corners at slow speeds, under 10-15mph. It seems to be coming from my tires but I can’t be sure. I know front wheel bearings are a common issue so I jacked the truck up today to see if that’s my issue. I can’t feel any play in the bearings and wheels seem to rotate as normal. On the left side, I do hear some very faint clicking, but it seems minor. I’ve encountered bad bearings before by hearing a clicking sound, but not sure if that’s a common failure mechanism of this bearing.

Curious to learn from your experiences if these findings are indicative of front hub bearing failure or if I need to look elsewhere.

Took the caliper off and it sounds worse now. Seems likely to be a bearing issue based on this rattling sound

If the tires are squealing when turning it sounds like an issue with the front wheel alignment Toe.

My '06 was making a squealing noise on slow turns several years ago... it also sounded just like the tires were squealing. It was diagnosed as a faulty spiral cable and repaired. The noise went away and hasn't returned.

IDK... apparently a bad spiral cable can sound like squealing tires...

    You’re killing me, smalls.

I ended up ordering a new set of hubs just for peace of mind with 180k miles and the rattling sound I heard on rotation. Not sure I believe that will fix the squealing issue, but I’ll report back.

Tow is possible. I had alignment done 3x last year after installing new front end ball joints and LCA, and the alignment still doesn’t feel right even after multiple attempts at different shops.

Mine were doing the same and an alignment fixed my issue.

Mine ended up being a bad UCA ball joint. Swapped the joint and haven’t had any issues since.
