So, I haven't really had any problems with my truck yet, but have gotten a call to come in for about every TSB (rear leafs, steering column, throttle, transmission reflash).

Now, today my first weirdness started.

Whenever the truck is in either park or neutral and at temperature, this weird whine starts and gets louder and louder until it can be heard in the cab. Driving me up the wall. It doesn't matter if the A/C is on or off, so I was thinking it might be the idler pulley, but I don't have any experience with this engine yet. I don't wanna go tearing anything apart if I don't know exactly what I'm looking for.

Anything anyone can recommend that I check?

Would you not take it to your dealer to check out ? It is under warranty .

I think you're on the right track. But, I'd check the belt first.

After listening to it really carefully, I'm thinking it might actually be the transfer case. I'm really worried now, but yeah, I'll take it back to the dealership.

I just don't understand why it only happens in park and neutral.

It's unlikely to be transfer case if you are in P or N.
