Bought the truck a couple weeks ago and it drives perfect. Only has 71k on it and I love it. Over the past week or so though I've noticed while driving at between 1500 and 2500 rpm there is a squealing/Squeaking no matter which gear I'm in. It doesnt affect how it drives or cause a rattle or vibration or anything but it's annoying/concerning. Any ideas?

You need a new serpentine belt and possibly a pulley/tensioner.

Sorry, it should also be noted that it doesn't make the noise when in neutral and reving the engine. Only while in gear and driving.

It could still be the belt, but if not I got nothing.

4 inch lift - complete blackout, n-fab step bars, Black Horse bull bar, 20 inch light bar, anytime fog lights, added led day running lights, Fuel wheels and Falken Wildpeak tires ,custom fit seat covers, Gatorback mud gaurds
Two more possibilities would be the water pump or maybe a u-joint.

It's definitely a metallic sound and seems to come from the centerish of the truck

That would eliminate water pump,I would check the u-joints.

I plan on greasing all the fittings tomorrow at work and seeing if that helps. Like I said, its not affecting how the truck drives. I'll update with any new info. Thanks!

Definitely a bad u-joint. Seems the seal on one side broke. Now to save money for the job. The u-joint is super cheap, the job is just so damn labor intensive

Go to your dealer and complain about it. There is a extended service bulletin on u joints for certain years. You might get u joints free of charge

It's a little young for a Ujoint problem, but depending on where you live, it could have rusted or dried out. Give them a look, and grease if they're in tact, otherwise replace - They're like $25 from Autozone.

I just did them on my 90' Chevy, which was having the same problem, but was accompanied by rattling until about 3k RPM. Ujoints were completely rusted out, and all of the needles from the roller bearings were missing.

Considering I paid $19 for the u-joint and the labor charge is $300, its pretty labor intensive

In the process of this thread tonight I figured out my buddy is gonna do it. Just gotta get him a case of twisted tea. And he says it'll take 45 minutes. Not too shabby!
