Squeeky blower motor

I have a 2018 Tacoma,I turned my AC on today and I could here the blower motor spinning,almost like it was scraping on something as it spun. It happens with AC,heat,fresh air,it doesn't matter,if the fan is spinning,I hear it. I took the cabin filter out,it was completely clean,and I manually spun the blower motor by hand and I still heard the scrapping noise,any ideas what it could be? I'm bringing it in tomorrow to get it looked at and I would like to be prepared for anything they tell me. They better not try and tell me it's normal because it's not,it's never done this before. I have approx 16,000 miles on it btw,if that matters. Any advice or help is appreciated. Thank you

 

there maybe a foreign object lodged inside the fan

 

Are you sure it’s not the high pressure fuel pump?

Does it sound like crickets? I had mine replaced

 

Have you contacted the dealer about your warranty?

 

There is a recall on the blower motors, get it in to the dealer.

 

There is /was a recall on the blower motor on my 2016 TRD Sport. they did the campaign while I waited. I was told the squirrel cage was coming apart on some trucks Sorry I don't remember the number

 

There are 3 5.5mm screws and the connector clip and it drops to the floor. You can take it out and examine it before you waste time taking it to the dealer. As others have said, you might just have a stick or other foreign object in there.

 

No,I hear it when the AC is on heat,or fresh air.

 

I took the cabin filter out and manually spun it by hand,the cabin filter was clean and the blower motor looks brand new still,no sticks or anything stuck in it,but it makes a scrapping sound when it turns.

 

I'm bringing it in tomorrow to have it looked at.

 

Had mine replaced on my 2017. There is a recall on them, dealer should replace it for you.

 

Does the recall include 2018? Do you have a link for the recall? Just trying to be prepared in case they try to claim it's normal.

Mine started to rattle and was very noticeable at low speeds.

went in with 34k miles and they simply replaced it.

 

It's warranty. Why are you not just taking it to the dealer?

Mine was replaced during the service campaign for it.

 

That's because the hub is cracked and it rotates out of balance at operating speed and then rubs the housing.

 

As I said,I am taking it to the dealer,I just want to be prepared if they try to claim it's normal.
