    I then bought a new trailer hitch. This truck sits a tad higher in the back so this helped level my trailer out when loaded and still have some more adjustment...

    Next up comes bed tie downs. Truck came with the mounting plate but no hooks. Wasn't a ton to get them but wish they came with the truck...

    Next on the list was a new tonneau cover. The one that came on it was velcro and vinyl. Not very good at keeping others out!
    Went with the Bak X4S hard roll up cover. Much better than the old one and looks a lot better!

    There's a few little things between the cover and this next mod like redoing the white letter on the tires but that's pretty minor. I found out a family friend was getting a new truck. Wouldn't you know he bought a newer F150 but same color as mine :rofl:

    Next big mod was doing a little insulating and sound deadening. I did this on my old Tacoma too and was really happy with it! Used some Frost King duct insulation on the floors and rear wall. Made it a little quieter but should help keep it cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter...

    I will say the F150 was a lot more complicated than the Tacoma. A lot more bolts and the power inverter is under the rear passenger side seat.

    After i went through a parking garage I realized the stock antenna was pretty tall. That same week I got a $5 off coupon from Oreillys so I bought a shorter antenna. With the coupon I got this for about $10 so one of my cheaper mods and it works great!

    Next were some fun classic EcoBoost mods. First was the intake silencer delete which makes the turbos louder! Next was the VTA mod where you take the tube connecting the blow off valve to the air box and you plug the hole with a rubber end for chairs and a worm clamp. Makes it go "whoosh" when you let off the pedal!

    Yup! Only downside is the factory lug wrench doesn't work with the new nuts. OEM is 21mm and the McGards are 22mm. I bought a 22in Husky extendable breaker bar and a Husky deep impact socket to keep in the truck.

    Oh yeah the 3.5L is an awesome engine. 365hp and 420tq really makes this thing a rocket even in normal mode and not Sport mode. I got 23.3MPG last week with mostly highway miles and with the 36gal extended range tank I can go close to 800 miles on a single tank!

    Next I wrapped the cold air charge pipe with some reflective insulation stuff and removed the felt under the engine cover. On the F150 Forum one guy recorded a repeatable IAT drop of 5° with the insulation and another 5° by removing the entire cover. I like the cover so I took the felt off as a compromise...

    By now the mods have really slowed down. This was about a month ago. I checked the diff fluid in the rear. Turns out it was ½ to ¾ of a quart low! I originally was going to hand pump out the old fluid but the tube wouldnt fit in so I topped it off and good to go! Coasted much better after I did that...
