Hey everyone. Bought a Sony kit from Trail Grid Pro for my 17 SR. Got everything in but when I connect my phone and try CarPlay it says the GPS antenna needs to be connected.

Does the SR have a GPS harness for me to plug in to? I couldn’t find one.

    Thanks!

Did your factory unit have navigation? If not, I’d guess you don’t.

It did not. The package is completely plug and play so it shouldn’t be an issue. I’m sure there’s something I’m missing.

If you truck didn’t come with navigation, I doubt you have the GPS antenna,,, therefore nothing to plug in to. I could be wrong though.

Don't all late model Tacoma's have the dorsal fin on the rear middle of the roof? Or is that there for something else and the optional GPS antenna mounted elsewhere? My SR does not have navigation but has the roof fin.

Figured it out. I do not have an OEM GPS plug behind my head unit. Not that I could find anyway. I disconnected the pigtail TGP had plugged into the back of the Sony, and plugged the provided Sony GPS antenna in its place. Right as rain now.

So it looks like the dorsal fin is the radio antenna and the GPS antenna is under the roof near the overhead console.
