You could also subscribe to XM and use the phone app, then connect your phone via Bluetooth if all else fails..then you can listen to XM anywhere anytime not just in the truck...just a suggestion.

Is it all plug n play if you already have XM/Entune, and the interface module that links it to toyota steering wheel controls/data? How much does that all cost? I don’t need an installer, I can do it myself if they are all harnessed/connectorized to be plug n play...thanks!

Not yet .... there is one on eBay for total of $150.00 to the door (used and scratched) or brand new in dealer for $200.00.
My plan to get one from local salvage yards or get a new one from Toyota Stealer ... I can have a Mechanical team to trim it but still the trimmed edge is not look round and pros.
Will wait until Local Salvage Yards...

I was thinking about switching my SR radio with SR5. I am not so much interested in the satellite radio, but more interested in the navigation app. If there is anyone that has successfully done this, are the radios interchangeable without extra parts and did the navigation work easily? If you have any other tips, I would greatly appreciate them. I would like to learn more before I buy a SR5 radio from someone. Thanks.

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
I replaced my Standard SR5 radio with a "premium" factory model ( the one that comes with the "tech package" -I think). My old radio had the standard "scout nav". I also sold the radio here on this website and the old dash panel on EBAY. You can look at my old posts and see that history
This is KEY -- I am not sure the SR's have any nav system -- therefore (maybe) no antenna.
My swap on my 17 was totally plug and play as far as the wiring went. The big "gotcha" if you are moving to the "premium" is you need a different dash panel. These are about 200 new.
I would think if you just wanted "scout nav" -- you may just need the antenna? and the add on unit? to the radio (no new dash panel).
I am not totally sure how the technology for the scout nav system worked on my 17. I used it only slightly (sort of a PIA) (cell-phone based) -- I used a Garmin till I got the premium (non-JBL) system installed.
I would take a look at what your factory radio's specs say --that would tell you a lot about what is present in your 18 SR.

Here is a link to the 18 specs:
    https://www.toyota.com/tacoma/features/interior/7594/7543/7582
Looks like the 18 SR does not have an antenna (my guess). Also SR's get 4 speakers instead of 6. There is other diffs.
You can go down the models and read what each model's standard radio comes with.
    Good luck --
BTW I am very satisfied with my swap.
PM me if you decide to move on up to the premium -- there is one other "issue"

The Scout GPS app is horrible, don't bother updating solely for that.

Scout gps sick, however the clean factory look was what I was after. The xm was great.
    Man I miss that truck
