    Hi all,

    I've found a set of 4 - 2021stock TRD Sport Hitachi shocks on Facebook marketplace for $250 CAD.

    Would you recommend this upgrade from a base SR (DCLB)? Are they plug and play or is anything different for the fit?

    Same question for the stock grille, plug and play across models?

    Thanks,
    Tim

    Assuming they don’t come with springs, they’d be worth it for $50 tops if you could install yourself just to try out the difference.

    Bought complete front and rear shocks from an off road taken off at 180 miles, my sr looks almost level. Plug and play.

    The Sport shocks are different, but not necessarily an upgrade. It depends on whether or not you’d prefer a stiffer ride.

    Nope. Waste of money.

    See if you can find some OEM off road suspension, I got mine for $150 when I had an SR

    WOW, I’m surprised at the answers you are getting.
    First answer - YES, all 3rd Gen suspensions are swappable.
    2nd answer - YES, the Sport suspension is an upgrade… IF the characteristics meet your purpose.
    I had an SR5, have a OR and swapped to Sport suspension.
    Reason? I wanted to firm up the ride for more road.
    OR suspension is more like a luxury car… lots of fluff/ comfort. It gave me personally too much body roll and sloshy feel on road. My truck was more road queen in its early days, so this made sense. Decide what you are doing with your truck and then decide what enhances that experience.
    SR = road duty
    Sport = hybrid on road/offroad
    OR = offroad
    Pro = advanced offroad

    Hope you find what you’re looking for. :thumbsup:

    You mean not everyone goes Offroad and enjoys feeling like they are driving a land boat? Pretty radical ideals....

    I drove the true land yachts like 70s Lincoln Towncar. I do not want those pogo stick characteristics in my Tacoma road experience.

    To the sport no. The ride won’t really feel any different.

    to the off road, if you want the off road suspension, yeah. But if you don’t want squishy then no.

    On the same topic, I came across an OR supension (13000 km): 4 shocks with coils plus leaf springs for $750.

    Any difference in the coils and leaf springs?

    Thats a hard pass. Too much. You just need 4 shocks. Don't need leaf springs.if you can get the shocks for 150 -200 thats the current going rate
