I haven't yet, I'm still thinking about it - the vehicle hasn't gone anywhere for 70+ days it can sit a few more days while I decide.

I just want to say, I do love my SR. I'm reading each comment (marked by a like) and appreciate everyone taking the time to voice their opinions.

Of course, the bias is to get it. Financially it's fine - but I'm fighting my own, hypocritical self. When I choose the SR it's because I convinced myself "Holy shit, I can by 2 new SR taco as for the price of one trd pro!?" And that's the internal fight I'm still having

The biggest question to me is whether you can afford it or not. If it puts you in any financial pinch at all… even a little… If you skip a weekend away to pick up extra hours… (or whatever scenario) Keep the SR. If you can simply absorb the increase in cost for the upgrade, why not? Do whatever you want. There isn’t any right choice. Both are absolutely top-tier at achieving their goals. Keep us posted! lol I’m invested.

When I bought my SR I went thru Toyota's website and did the "build your truck" thing and pretty much saw that they pigeon hole you into the packages and I just didn't see myself needing anything other than a plain Jane 4x4 truck. Anything extra I knew I could pay cash for and forego the finance charge for anything over & above basic.

Figure out what your basic need is & then decide if ya really need a front camera & the BSM and if it's really worth it - extra cost, taxes, and the most critical thing to consider - giving up a vehicle you bought new (and you know the history on) & trading "up" to a used truck that may have been rode hard & put away wet by someone who knew they'd turn it in at the end of the lease. Buyers remorse may cost ya more than $8k extra down the road.

If ya really gotta have it, haggle a bit since it's 70+ days on the lot. Last thing ya wanna do is show them ya want it .....then again, maybe there's a reason it's a lot lizard for 70+ days.

How many miles is this lease return TRD Pro? If you only mall crawler, and only go Home Depot, just like going be “highway princess,” only pretty. I would keep your SR, and do mods.

This truck seems a little odd to me.
    • A 2 year old lease return?
    • A 2 year old Pro on a dealers lot for $40K? The KBB trade in value on my 4 year old Pro is over $46K......

    Just say n....

I thought 40k was a bit low too. But don’t know the exact mileage condition ect.
OP what dealer is this truck at so we can look at it. Maybe help you further.

I thought BSM would be nice, but I ended up turning it off because I never used it. The indicators on the mirrors are so small you can't see them without intentionally looking for them, which IMO defeats the purpose.

Fog lights can be added, and I wasn't impressed with the Pro Rigid lights and swapped em for some Diode Dynamics.

Front cam is nice, especially with birds eye view. No guessing how close you are to anything. The 360 cam is great for awareness, especially if you have a bad neck.

Are those three things specifically worth upgrading? No, but you are also getting all the other Pro features and higher resale value. One big pet peeve of mine is shitty halogen headlights on modern vehicles, so the LED lights are a bonus IMO. The Fox suspension rides much gooder compared to the SR5. Leather interior, 4x4 modes (even though you stated its a mall crawler)...

I say if you want the truck and it doesn't hurt you financially then go for it. With a thorough test drive and inspection of course.

Do they have something on the lot that isn't a Pro with those features? Because you pay a markup for the Pro badge but a TRD OR with the advanced technology package has the same features.

    So
It's a lease return from a Toyota manager, they have a pretty decent lease program at the factory for 2&3 year leases (salary only). The reason it's so low is the color, lime green.

KBB shows truck at 52k, which is what they originally tried to price it at 3 months ago

The "Electric Lime" color was the special Pro color for that year. That truck was made for 1 year only just like all the other special year colors.
It should hold it's value slightly better than all the White, Black, and Magnetic Grey Pro's that are made that year and every year.
$12K under KBB?? Gotta be more to it than that.
I'm all for ya getting the Pro, I love mine! But I'd double down on getting it checked out.

I happily paid 52k for a used 2022 pro (18k mi.) back in April. Out here in Cali there are no discounts for lime green.

This PRO sounds sweet. I say if you’re thinking about it, your mind is already made up. Lean on em to put the Toyota Certified warranty on it and sign the papers, if not tell me where this 40k pro is:p
