Thinking about the color and the fact not everyone loves it, I lot of vehicles currently with a lot today have options that are rare because it wasn't universally loved. As an example, an older slick top 911 (no sunroof) is worth about double what a regular one is worth. Similarly the 997.2 turbo 6 speed is south significantly more than the pdk (and that's not a very old car). I'm not saying a tacoma is the same as a 911, but it's possible there comes a day when a lime green is worth more because of the color. Certainly don't count on that, expect to lose money since cars are generally depreciating assets, just a thought I had.

I do think you would be better financially getting the pro vs spending money making yours look like a pro or have pro features. Mods don't really add value upon resale. I weirdly think the better financial decision would be the pro given you can afford it, simply because of the much higher resale.

Worth noting, these are ramblings of an internet stranger, do not make financial decisions without fully considering all implications of your specific situation.

I get you on that. If he’s fine with lime, and plans on keeping it until the wheels fall off, then it may as well be purple.

But then, few vehicles on this planet or any other offer a better ROI than specifically a Tacoma TRD Pro, so at least worth considering if he wants to trade off or get his money back and then some in a few years. No wrong answers here.

My last Toyota truck was purple, 2004, it was considered "blue" by the bmv though.

Late to the party but it was the right move OP. The mods alone are worth it over the SR, you’ll recoup the additional funds if you ever decide to sell. And most importantly you get to enjoy it for as long as you decide to keep it.

Heck, I looked for used Pros in my area. Found a decent one, for $48k with 22K miles.

No, I really do not trade in my 2022 Sport with 11.5K miles. Wind Chill pearl is nice already.

Trade in bug is infectious. My father in law had owned 60+ vehicles over his lifetime. Now I can see why.

Repost pics! I wish Toyota had more bold or retro color choices across the entire lineup.

They made a mistake dropping the Flat Dark Earth color.....almost like Magpul FDE.

Could've marketed them as TRD "Technicals" with molle panels & 50 cal. mount for a belt fed M2 feeding thru the sliding back glass!

Lease program users at the factory are incentivized to add as many options as possible when ordering, this actually gets you a better rate (for trucks/larger suvs) which explains why it had a lot of add-ons like locked center console safe, paint protection film, bed cover, steps, etc.

Cool, so did you get it for the $40K or do a little better?
Also it may have been posted here, but how many miles on the truck?

They wouldn't go much lower than original asking since I had them go up 2k on my trade in value. GL traded in the vehicle at 43k towards there new car, so they were already down 2.5k. They left the window sticker in the glove box that showed 50k asking back in April. 38k miles

You got yourself a nice low mileage truck.
    (IF IT WAS ME)
    My next steps would be:
    1. Oil Change
    2. Air and Cabin Filter Change
    3. Front and Rear Diffs and Transfer Case
    4. Wash and Ceramic coat
    5. Change out the interior halogens to LEDs
    6. Fluid Film before winter

40k is def a steal they are all 46-9k minimum here.

edit: 38k miles is a little high so 40k makes sense
