SR5’s being sold with black OR style fenders?

Don’t think a dealer would install flares onto a 3rd gen utility model. Makes no sense. Flares from the factory have about 10 clips which mount into holes in the fender. Can’t see them changing out fenders or drilling holes to do this. Also, I know flares can be added without drilling because I just did it, but there’s no way a dealer would do it that way. If anyone can show us a 3rd gen with a black front bumper and black flares from the Toyota factory I’d eat my shoe.

 

You can purchase the fenders. There is two versions, unpainted matte and a paintable variant. The bedside panels in the truck need to have holes. BUT, there is a way to install without needing to cut holes in your fenders.

Here’s the link. Just did this and super simple to do. They stay on rock solid also. No need to worry about them coming loose. Just have to purchase a few parts from your Toyota parts dept.

 

Never saw a new gen3 tacoma when looking at them in 2020 that came without fender flares and mud flaps. I can tell you we have state laws here that at least require all trucks to have mud flaps

 

Theres a 2020 sr 4 cyl. access cab sitting on a locals dealers lot here that has the black fender flares and black bumper...idk if its used or a leftover.

 

If Toyota made it from the factory there’s no reason a pic of a new one couldn’t be found online. I’ll believe it when I see it

 

If it looks like this I can assure you it did not come from the Toyota factory this way.

 

My 2020 SX wasn't equipped with factory mud flaps. Bare on the lot. Dealer installed OEM mud flaps & OEM running boards as part of the deal. SX of course has factory flares.

Not so “Utility” now. Clazzio leather seat covers, and OEM Hilux leather shift knob.

 

Well these trucks had to be done by someone. I saw the same trucks on 2 different dealer lots at the time...all the same sr 4 cylinder access cabs. They were around $30k.

 

Nice truck you have there, the 4 banger MT were pretty rare and you got one of the last ones.
