What's up Tacoma owners!! I recently purchased an Sr5 4x2 double cab and it came with the 16" styled wheels. I don't do any kind of offloading or towing but these stock wheels and tires look kinda weak. Seeing other posts has made me want to upgrade to something that will look a lot nicer. What kind of setups do you guys have? It came stock with P245/75R16 Tires. Worth upgrading to bigger wheels? Or keep 16 " and get an all terrain tires? Thanks a lot!

I like the TSS wheels that are on the 2016 Tacoma.... The Silver ones. You may need to buy and program new TPMS sensors if you have them. You may be able to rotate them 180 degrees and get them to work, but if you have a flat or someone removing/installing tires could damage them if you do this.

I had the same 16" steel wheels with my SR5 and upgraded to the 17" TRD Pro wheels with 265/70/17 tires. I think it makes a huge difference in the appearance of the truck. Also sold my stock 245 tires for $350 on craigslist which helped offset the cost a little.

Swapped my steelies for OF wheels. Had to get a different set of TPMS for alloy wheels tho.

If you don't change the wheels, you look like "Uncle Bubba's work truck". . . . not that there is anything wrong with that.

No, no rubbing but I don't have mud flap. I believe @Garyji had rubbing with weather tech mub flaps.

Yes. I have the "no flare" SR5 so had to go with the WT mud guards. There is some slight rubbing at full lock but I'm going to live with it. I don't do any serious off road stuff.

Yes, the tire shop I went to just swapped them from the old to new wheels. I did pay for a tpms sensor service kit for each sensor ($8.00 each) but I'm not sure if that had anything to do with them fitting/not fitting.

I had to buy new lug nuts (flat seat/mag style) vs my stock acorns.

If you have a TRD sport your lug nuts will probably work. Mine didn't because I had the 16" steel wheels. I ordered OEM take-offs on eBay for around $40.

I'm on the same boat with wanting to change my wheels (staying at 16") but wanting 275's at stock height.
